I hate the black tar they put on the roads because it's just really ugly looking, and all the potholes, it sucks...
Are the roads where you live nice, in poor condition, or mixed? Roads are really important especially for me because it's slightly spread out where I live so you have to drive a lot sometimes. The roads where I live can be either really nice or really bad, and unfortunately the area near my school has a lot of horrible poorly maintained roads. It actually makes it look ghetto.
I literally have no roads for a half mile, then it's bumpy and uneven.
I live in a rural area.

That sucks. I'd get worried that my car would careen off the thing.

You're a sensitive boy ain't ya Tommy?
But actually, yeah, I longboard a lot when I can, so smooth pavement is appreciated, I live in Calgary, Alberta, and they've got some nice asphalt if you know where to go, not just main roads either, a bunch of nice neighbourhoods have elegant asphalt. I live in hellish Lethbridge during the school year, and pavement here is garbage unless you're on the best roads, and those roads are busy and narrow so you can't ride on them regardless (and drivers here are idiots), plus since it's so dry and windy, there's debris and gravel and shit all over the goddamn place ruining your momentum, and generally causing grief.

Woah for a second I thought you said Timmy. My name is Tim.

yeah I get what you mean totally. It really sucks but you got to live with that until they can fix it, you know. it's kind of lame how in usually either the highways or rich neighborhoods they have nice pavement, and the ones that aren't don't get repaved at all.
Mine are very similar to yours.
I don't hate anybody. even if you occasionally piss me off.

My local counsel spends more money on roads than anything else.
Mixed. I live in an urban area, so the main road is clear and good as new, but when I venture into small, not-commonly-visited areas, it's a little bad.

you really live in India? that's cool. I'm guessing it's in a nicer urban area right where there are nice roads?
The roads in halifax are awesome because they redid all the roads last year.

Well our roads here are just full of craters and too bumpy. And of course our asphalt in our Highways are thin.
My hometown has well maintained roads, they're making completely new strips of road at least once a year.

Average, all in all, they are in great shape, but there are some roads wich are pretty damaged and hard to drive on.

a section of nearby road is under repair for 3 years, which has caused numerous traffic congestions. they once said the repair would be completed by 2010. they kept postponing the date each time the deadline passed. it looks like the entire project has been abadoned all together.
other than that, road conditons are acceptable. you rarely see cracks on the surface of road despite the changes in temperature throught the years.

Road Conditions here are great - they're constantly taring them, taking care of them, making sure that they work. This a rural and productive area, so they have their priorities. Cities have worse roads.
We're a modern town, hell 60 years ago this was sea. So when this town was built, cars were already quite mainstream so the town (actually, the entire province) was based upon the idea that cars should be able to travel through them with ease. So yeah, the road condition is pretty good.
In the neighborhoods the roads are okay, but they're kinda shitty once you get into the commercial area of town.

What I find certainly strange is that the some roads are kept in good shape while others are damaged for years, strangely it seems not to matter in which area they are, sometimes one road is perfect and the next one can´t even be described as one, even if you want to be nice.

Local-wise, like neighborhood roads, are terrible. It is never a smooth ride amidst the bumps and potholes.

I live in Holland, where you pay a lot of taxes and the roads are great.
