How many judges have yet to finish judging?
The deadline for judging is 1.5 hours from now. If they haven't replied by then, I will post the results using the 4 judges we have.

I hope you're not waiting for mine because mine shouldn't be counting anyways :I
I hope you weren't waiting for my review :I
Anyways I just emailed in my reviews (not that they should've had any bearing on the scores anyways). If anyone has any question about what I said, I'd be more than happy to answer some questions
Is there a forum I'm missing with all these reviews? I keep seeing people who are supposedly writing them but I don't see them anywhere. Apparently some were made for the open round but I've yet to see those. Maybe I'm just out of the loop, i honestly don't know.

There are lots of reviews to go around. I will post these with the scores on the TOFA website.
Yeah sorry, I was supposed to write them but I only was able to do 4 of them. What I covered in the round 1 reviews should pretty much cover what happened from the open round as well.
Although your review, lazy, probably isn't going to be particularly useful. Sorry ahead of time :P
So we won't know anything until tomorrow?
Will the scores be posted in the morning, or somewhere around noon?
Results will be posted very soon. I had to rework all the numbers to compensate for the lack of one judge, and so things are running just a tad bit behind. I will have everything up ASAP.
The Winners are in!
And the winners of Round 1 are...
** Dave Bruno
** Fungasm
** Sandwich Eater
** TurtleCo
** SomeplaceElse
** Elfman Rox
** Lazy Mode Comics*
** Mark-er
* The match between Lazy Mode Comics and coughing dog was a tie, and the winner is then determined by the highest score in the "Artwork" category. If that is also a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the "Animation" category wins, and so on.
Thanks to all who entered! Congratulations to our winners and best of luck next year to all others.
All information, scores, and updated brackets are now on the TOFA Website and the Round 1 Page.
Reviews will be added to the Round 1 page within the hour. The Round 2 topic will be posted shortly. Extra time will be given due to the round starting late.
I wish there was an edit button on the BBS
CORRECTION:
-------------------
Due to the late penalty on TurtleCo's entry, their entry has been subtracted 15 points according to the late policy. All pages and scores have been updated. This therefore makes PinkSkull the winner of their matchup. Sorry for any confusion.

WOOOHOOO YAY FOR PENALTYS!
That means I didn't score that far behind TurtleCo, which, I accept, is a superior animator.
So for those who haven't seen it yet, Round 2 is up!
All Round 1 Reviews are up! Be prepared for heavy reading!
Congrats to everyone, well done someplaceelse and good luck in the next round!
Lesson learned; never enter an animation compettition without giving yourself ample time!
However, i'll be back next year, practised and ready.
Woah, I tought my review was going to be way worse, let's try to apply what he said into the new one.
:D
After reading all the reviews, I'm glad I actually do take acting classes, also, they solved a lot of technical issues I had been wondering for a while, like correct audio exporting.
So thanks a lot to all the reviewers!
fuk u guys this was ghey anyways!!
if I'm gonna lose, I'll lose with grace.
I loved watching what everyone made! The only thing that stinks is someone like Jagon getting knocked out with such a high score in the first round, while one of the other match-ups had 47.5 vs 40, so a lower score makes it through.
In some ways it doesn't seem fair. But I guess it's just the luck of the draw, and that's how things go sometimes. I'm sure everyone will bring their A game here!
I've gotta root for Dave, seeing as he's always top of the board each year I've followed TOFA, and he always just barely misses!
I also just wanted to quickly say Mark-er's part this round was super entertaining and I hope he finishes it when this tournament is over :)
so sad turteco :(
I want to see you try again next year!
GAH!

I tought the same at first, but if you think throughly, if I don't know, jagon had had another matchup, against some of us lower-scores, and won, he would eventually have had met Bruno let's say, in the finals. So it would have been the same, this just saved him animations i guess. Unless there is a second and third place, then it would have been unfair. Is there a second and third place price?
I'm quite happy with the reviews I got. I actually read all the other reviews too.
Lots of useful stuff :)

I think I found most help with my problems in the other reviews actually xD
Mine wasn't so bad, I was expecting a great loss of self-steem, but they didn't say anything that made me feel like quitting animation forever. I am really excited about round two, joining TOFA has been the best thing animation-wise that I have ever done!

There's a second. No third.

With that logic, why even have a second round?
sig'd

to... have fun?
hey i don't know I don't make the rules! I just was trying to find some logic at having even match-ups at the first round D:! having the top scores of each round would have been even more fair, but it just isn't like that .

Fair yes.
But I will admit that the whole tournament format is fun! It's great to have a rival. 1 individual to try and best, and test your animating might against! It's not just a FFA with someone on top, and another on bottom. I'm not a part of it, but I can see where having one person to aim against would be more motivating or enjoyable.
Anyways. Good luck to everyone in round 2!
GAH!

It actually is, since you feel like you have more of a chance, you can play against your oponent's strenghts and weaknesses, and it's also less stressful than just knowing there are 5 people above you and that you'll hardly make it.
