Pah, that's nothing. What we all need in our lives is Feng Shui.

I had this lengthy case-by-case response all typed out, but in the rush of doing other things at work yesterday apparently navigated away from the BBS by accident. So, you guys just get a catch-all to why I disagree with a lot of the common complaints.
- Claustrophobia:
--> C'mon... 20% of the wall in that place is an open window. : / I can see it in the toilet closet. But the rest of the place when put-away is sizeable. More space in that one room than any other single room in a normal residence I've been in.
- Laziness with putting things away:
--> Impossible. You couldn't do something else in the place UNTIL you put something away. The most intensive put-away effort is the dinner table, and you wouldn't be able to pull the bed out until you did so.
- Shitty view:
--> Yes, I do like the view of grungy buildings. How can you not see a sprawling city laid out before you and not feel like you're a part of something important? Feel like you've something before you to conquer? I appreciate the man-hours of work that go into building a huge city and maintaining it and even if dirty buildings aren't aesthetically pleasing, I certainly appreciate them when confronted.
- Cave-like:
--> Ok, I guess I can give you that. Really though... doesn't seem that difficult to put in some appropriate lighting or perhaps a piece of art of two on one of the 'doors'.
- Shower too close to the kitchen:
--> Wha--? There's a glass partition between the two. Where else would you be able to take a shower while you were cooking something and not have to worry about it burning?
Anyway, I think that perhaps the best feature of the place is that it encourages you to only do what you need to do there and then get out and live. I like having a small space like that to call mine. Obviously, one's mindset changes when they become attached to a spouse and/or offspring, but when you're a single guy (or gal) you don't really need that much. You don't have the sort of income that allows you to accumulate junk (typically) and so a small space like that would be great.

I don't know, I like space and being able to walk into different rooms although I'm not so far removed from dorms and crappy apartments that I couldn't adjust quickly. What really kills me is all the grey. It's just so...depressing. I want to cry looking at it. It's like an Apple product after the engineers have finished the prototype but before the designers work on the look and ergonomics. I guess functional is the word for it.
If you're one person you could do a lot worse. Hell, I've done a lot worse.

That's the bare essentials of boat architecture; utilize storage and use things for multiple uses (the kitchen table). I have an 1100 square foot apartment, and his whole place could fit into my living room. However, I also have vaulted ceilings and in no way have utilized my space as he has managed to do. I would surely have to adjust lifestyles though, seeing how his kitchen fit into a cabinet. Of course though, it's not surprising to see that he lives in Spain, since really you could only get away with some cool shit like that in maybe NYC here in the US. We are too gluttonous of people to embrace minimalism. As Louis C.K. said; "you could get rid of half your shit, and probably still have more than the average Canadian."
