This may be a silly question, but I was wondering if anyone knows any pro-war songs out there. To be honest, this thread was inspired by another thread, but my question is exactly the opposite of the other topic. It made me realize that I have never heard any pro-war music before and I wondered if it existed.

How about the American National Anthem?
No joke. Scott Key wrote it after witnessing the defence of Fort McHenry had been successful.

I think most songs by DOPE are pro-war.

This isn't pro-war and neither is anything by Megadeth. They're just songs that are written from the perspective of soldiers fighting in the war.

Jesus Christ! What a bunch of suck! Don't listen to this garbage, it's hardly a step above Nickelback.

A warrior tradition and a pure military tradition do not have hatred as the basis of war. The need to fight and even to exterminate another people may be acknowledged, but this does not entail hatred, anger, animosity, and contempt for the enemy. All these feelings, for a true soldier, are degrading: in order to fight he need not be motivated by such lowly feelings, nor be energized by propaganda, smoky rhetoric, and lies. Clearly defined goals were established for a necessary war, which was waged in a detached manner, hence without any room for hatred and contempt among combatants. - EVOLA

Are you serious? Megadeth is superior to Nickelback in every way!

I suppose, but never the less it's from a triumphant perspective. Listening to it just makes me wish I was a soldier fighting in a war. It all comes down to how you interpret a song really, you could argue it's an anti-war song if you consider perhaps the soldier is blinded by pride and glory and has become almost detached from the "cold bloody war"

The tune"war" is an obvious counterculture anti-war song.
