What did gray names mean in BBS?

Remember how a few years ago there were gray names in the "Users online" section of the BBS. You couldn't open up their profiles because their names were just gray text. What was the point of that? Were they banned/deleted or something?

They hadn't created profiles because you were originally not required to create a profile (it was worth 20 experience points, however, so pretty much everybody did).
They were called 'vagrants'. Shak3s was the most prominent example, as he was a high-level user with many posts but no profile.

Heh, that's pretty cool when you think about it.

I remember him. And now I know voting power. I feel dirty.

Man, this brings back memories. I forgot these kind of people ever existed. It was kinda silly now that you think about it.
This also reminds me of those old pop-up profiles we used to have and that grounds gold menu screen. Can't quite remember what was on it again, other than links to your reviews and reviews with responses.

I ask Bob if the new redesign would have popup user profiles. He gave me a look that made me poop my pants.

I feel so new now, I didn´t even know about this, it is a shame.

missed the days when popularity (based on how many times your profile gets viewed) was actually included as part of your stat. used to view my own profile frequently just to get high in the ranks.
28/12/14 - the last day I made sense.
31/12/14 - left the forums permanently.

The pop-up profiles seem so natural to me. It's like they should still exist.

Even though I signed up in 2008, I'm sure it's 2 years too late...I feel new, such a shame I didn't experience this.

I actually remember that from before I had an account, and way before I knew about the BBS.

Also, there were a lot of most-users-online records being broken that year and early 2007 - I wonder what attracted them all?

Yeah that category of user is pretty much useless now unless an old vagrant comes on ng, which RARELY happens

I never really spent any time in the forums not to long ago, so i haven't seen the apparent illusive vagrants.

Nope, he was just some guy that made flash work... When he was given modship I was so very, very confused. I really have trouble remembering this, the main reason I made my profile back in 2004 was because of the "you must be logged in to vote." But I do forget shit pretty easily lately.
Biggest things I remember ...
Different voting system. Almost a completely different reviewing system that allowed specific votes on categories such as "creativity" "graphics" ect. Now it's just one single vote for the entire review. Different, more choppy background. And before "tank men."
Oh, almost forgot. The original angry face.
