I believe that the government should be allowed to do whatever they want without fear of foreign intervention, but I personally don't agree with condemnation of homosexual practice.

That honestly sounds like the dumbest belief one could ever have.

Well, I signed it. Even if there's a small chance that this will affect the outcome of the bill, it is still worth signing.

Why isnt the anyone getting this?

NO ONE HERE IS ARGUING FOR THEIR RIGHT TO FINALIZE THE BILL.

We are saying that:

A) A petition can't solve this, if you think a country that can KILL an entire group of people will listen to your online petition, your naive and nothing else can be said about it.

B) No one wants to put their personal information online besides anything other than face-book, I dont care what the fucking cause is. I am not comfortable doing that and it is MY preference, just like how those people who are about to be executed prefer to have sex with the same gender. So dont get all high and mighty on me and contradict yourself.

C) As terrible as it is, its Africa lets not deny the fact that continent has a bad history, a BAD history. Nothing good can come from government intervention from this. War is a possible outcome, would you have another 5,000 die simply because a few thousand people from a continent THAT YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HOW THEY ARE wont get up and pack their bags to go over a border.

I am sick and tired of this false FIGHT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS movement our country is so wrapped up in. You want to help the world? Why not start in your own fucking backyard before you go out to "conquer" the evils from afar.

I honestly hope this country returns to Isolationism. In the past 50 years we have lost thousands of men for shit that doesnt even affect us. Why would we even have gone to Iraq or Afghanistan if we hadn't ignored all that Soviet Afghan nonsense, we would still have those 3000 lives we just used our heads to understand that the Soviets had no chance to start with.

Now we killed the man responsible for the war in the first place (9/11? anybody) and are still there to this day, to 'HELP THE IRAQI/AFGHANI PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY AND INTO DEMOCRACY" Why don't we worry about the economy that threatens millions of lives everyday who might face the idea of poverty.

Point in Case: Stop caring about shit 2000 miles away when you can do your part to help YOUR country that affect people who you ACTUALLY KNOW and CARE for.

Why should I? If Uganda made a petition saying that we should kill gays would the US government do what they say? No they wouldn't. There isn't much reasoning with with a country that is stupid enough to do this.

I'm not sure you are aware how AIDS works.
less people = less aids

personally a genocide of gays is better, like idi amin attempted

but i'm sure some international organizations SIMPLY COULDN'T ALLOW THAT in our "enlightened" modern age

Ok so we're going to kill people in order to stop them from spreading a disease that kills people.......Hypocritical don't you think?

Stop blindly fucking throwing that word around. Not tolerating something/having a different opinion on it doesn't mean you're afraid of it. By throwing that word around you are being intolerant of someone else's value's/beliefs/opinions as you're using it to somehow degrade that person.

I don't care about the petition, as what RacistBassist has said, I do not believe it will have any effect on the act (that i do admit is cruel). They STRONGLY believe in these things, it usually takes much more force than just a signature by many people to make them change a law like that.

Well, depends on how quickly the disease is spreading. Imagine asking yourself back when it all started: kill a hundred thousand now and save tens of millions later? Although I'm not sure if that method would've fix the AIDS epidemic though.

I don't know if you realize this, but getting infected with that in the first place IS pretty much a death sentence, except one, in all likelihood, would die slowly and painfully from a rare affliction. If anything, an execution would be an act of mercy.

And what makes morality? Ah yes, the generally distant, "superior" being(s) who can declare their judgements about what life should be better than others', followed by the moralistic commands to love and obey such judgements against the individual's self-interest and personal choice.

As much as I hate to say it, but this. The US is not the world police we should mind our own fucking business and let them work it out themselves.

There is a difference between the government getting along, and just people using the internet to state their beliefs. I am totally fine with this petition if and only if our government (and the others for that matter) do not get involved. Period.

Not really in the mood to argue with any more people, if you've made up your mind that you're not gona sign it then you're not gona sign it. Nobody is forcing you to.

UPDATE: 300,000 around the world have already signed, and there is 48 hours to go until a decision is reached.

Uganda would become the 6th or 7th country i think to have this kind of law, personally people are free to feel how they want about homosexuality but it's things like this that tend to show how much of a shithole some places can be.(Not that africa or areas that have laws regarding homosexuality are nice places to begin with)

I tend to agree signing a petition has a high rate of doing diddly squat but i think it's nice that it can show people do care about this and there is a chance(small or not) that something could come of it.

Makes for one less country for homosexuals to visit anyway i guess.

That's odious.

I don't give a FUCK what you believe, the systematic slaughter of ANYONE for victimless "crimes" is counterintuitive to the "traditional family values" one might fight to uphold.

Who said they're doing it to protect "family values?" They have disease problems in Africa that would make your head spin.
