4.20 / 5.00 15,066 ViewsHi I always been a huge fan of electronic music, particularly Drum and Bass style and others like it. Recently I've been listening to Pendulum, and I've pretty much enjoyed all their albums so far, but I read that their next album is gonna be punk rock :( so I've been looking, both on the Audio Portal, and off, for some new listening material. I've found some stuff, but I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction.
I'm looking for DnB, Speedcore, Breakbeat, House or anything like that. Dubstep, and trance are okay too as long as they have a decent beat to them.
Any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Yep. that's me on liljim and PsychoGoldfish's sigs.
I must be pretty awesome huh?
I, for one, welcome our new Facebook overlords.
Well i have to say that the Audio forum is ment for discussing audio creation.
Anyways there are plenty of Ngusers who's main focus is DnB including me.

Love how you manage to self-advertise within 18 minutes of the original post.
As for the original question, I'll throw in Rusko and Reso. Two great dubstep artists that can be found easily on YouTube.
But yes, sadly, this forum is generally for audio production...
Sometimes, it would rain men. "Hallelujah!", we would cry. Thousands were killed.

Sadly? I'm actually relieved that this forum is for producing music only. I'd hate it if the half the threads here were talking about people's favourite mainstream Trance artists and the other half is the only half I'm interested in.

And audio production this is! Musical culture is something we need to be aware of; perhaps it's a chance to help diversify our artists repetouir of inspirations beyond Tiesto, Deadmau5 and Pendulum, as it seems like a prominent influence here!
Be careful, newgrounds is a great place, but you don't want your DnB collection to sound like Tiesto. Stick to indie/oldschool styles in DnB, keep AWAY from UKF, or whatever else seems influenced heavily by the trance or hip-hop movements that are dominating the "music" business.

I mean, I could go deeper into the subgenres; a lot of this isn't too definitive. For example, the song listed under House is a "Deep House" song, like Kerri Chandler, and many people wouldn't consider it as a good generalization for all "House". But, it is another view that I believe seldom many people take, so it's important to atleast try to integrate it, keep our styles from being the same!
Trust me when I say this, yo; musical culture and artistic taste are proportional. Artistic taste is an extremely important part of production, as it would be the outlet of inspiration and knowledge on music in general. Don't shy away from something that initially doesn't sound good; try to understand it, try to EXPERIENCE it as it was intended! Only then will you mature as a musician, yo!

probably the best advice ive seen here, same with Mich's.
Noisia, Spor, Apex, Ewun, Evol Intent, Misanthrop, Alix Perez, Koan Sound (DEFINITELY give these guys a listen), Antiserum, Excision, Skrillex (Kind of), Bare Noize. That should keep you busy.

Most of that falls under neurofunk, basically its in the same family as Drum and Bass.
Liquid Funk is the drum and bass that has all the uplifting music and such: Netsky, Crystal Clear, High Contrast, LAOS, Danny Byrd, London Elektricity, some Chase and Status.
By the way I wouldn't ever consider Skrillex a drum and bass artist.
Don't forget Sub Focus, Spectrasoul, Aphroditie, Goldie, Adam F. , Nero, Roni Size, Rusko, Radicall, Logistics, friction & K tee, ewun, commix... so on and so forth
Yeah all of the 2nd half of those suggestions were dubstep.
