Offical Project Cafe/wii 2 Thread 2011-05-07 02:46:06 Reply

This is a thread devoted to Project Cafe. For those of you that don't know, Project Cafe is the new Nintendo System soon to be announced at this year's E3 convention (6/7/11). Now, feel free to post all the links and updates about Project Cafe here and discuss what you may and/or may not like about the next generation of Nintendo systems. It's rumored that project cafe will be twice as powerful as the 360, but some argue otherwise.

From what I hear, Project Cafe has a touch screen controller which is cool seeing as no other system has had anything like that before (aside form the Dreamcast).

What's your opinion? Love or hate Nintendo, you've got to admit that this is a little exciting. I mean, how are they going to up themselves this time?

Well, first of all, the PowerPC platform has evolved in the past 6 years and the Wii 2 will get a modern high-end graphics card.
If you build a PC now, it's gonna be twice as powerful as the 360, period. It's just an old machine.

I'm fairly sure there was already thread about this here somewhere. But I guess since you slapped "Offical" on it, its alright. :P

On topic: The touch screen controllers worry me, but so did the hole motion thing at first. I guess it will be great. But the $80+ controllers don't touch me in the right way. But its really the titles that will make it great in the long run. (mario, zelda, samus, ect.) And I bet third party games will play better this time around.

Me too. But then again, it's where Nintendo takes this thing. If it's a touch screen controller with wifi, motion censers, and DLC as well as Streetpass software like the 3DS that's one thing.

Remember, the PS3 was around $600 when it first came out, but after a while it lowered to about half that (Although $40 for a controller is still a little much :/).

I've never bought a Wii before, but I had always wanted to. I was just about to when I heard they were announcing this piece of gold. I'll join your thread, as I have a very high interest in making a purchase in this next gen console.

Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.

It sounds great and all, but it's the lack of games which I enjoy which steers me away from looking further into this and possibly getting it.

I'm more inclined into its library than its power. I'll definitely get it either way because I like Nintendo's games, but I certainly hope the launch is much better than the 3DS's otherwise I'll wait some time after launch. And with even Nintendo going HD, it seems I'll have to buy a new TV just to read the screen now.

PC isn't all that just another 1,000 dollars for better graphics, big deal.

Everything was sounding well until I found this article on just a taste of the specs this console claims it will have at launch.

With all of this newly assumed power Nintendo's claiming for its new console, why stop there???
