They themselves have made a franchise of one would think of epic proportions; on to which they can never make another game ever again. But they do, and are genera defining.
They themselves and no others support the idea of modifying there games to make something else out of them, something great.
But as Widen said, there can only be one. And that one is...
Blizzard because Diablo was my childhood and I love them for that, also Warcraft, Starcraft, and pretty much everything they've ever made.
Yeah, whatever.

Valve, as I believe they have made more contributions to keep the entire PC gaming community alive with Steam, and have easily allowed other developers to not be as afraid to venture into the PC market.
No matter what your weaknesses are, make sure your own abilities supersede them.
Blizzard was the shit in the late 90's and early 2000's, and Valve has been the shit for the past 5 or 6 years.
Both make games for Mac but Blizzard actually puts effort in those ports. Valve's are just shitty.
I don't know, I love TF2 (on PC, Mac version is unplayable) but I also loved WoW back in the day.
Valve. I grew up playing valve, maily counter-strike and half- life. Yet they still make really good games like portal 2.
Wow, this really seems like a real 50/50 split.
Valve personally, but that's because I've played more Valve games than Blizzard games (and Steam is agreat service), both are great companies, I think we can all agree on that.
illicit makes a damn good signature.
Valve, obviously.
Steam, you guys! i mean hellooooooooooo?
I freaking run Blizzard games through Steam.
Hell, even while playing on a console, I make it so it says "PS3 - *game*" under my Steam ID.
I never really got into any of the Valve games, so the hype never really affected me. I however have put countless DAYS into World of Warcraft, I loved Diablo 2, and Starcraft was one of my most favorite games in the high school days. So I'm going to have to side with Blizzard.
Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.
Both because they're both good companies that cover completely different genres of gaming.
I don't have to choose.

This.
And personally, I've found the Valve games a lot more entertaining than Blizzard's. And yeah, Steam rocks. So I go with Valve.
Valve because I don't like the genres Blizzard dabbles in much. The only thing I enjoyed from them was Starcraft II.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
VALVe, for revolutionizing many aspects of games, and shitting on Single player, Multiplayer Online, and puzzle FPS' AT THE SAME TIME. FOR OVER 10 YEARS.
I'm the holder of the self proclaimed 'Biggest Douchebag on the Forums' award.
PSN/360 name : BerZerKer 123, and my Steam
Valve because I'm not really a fan of MMO's/RTS.
I support valve. While they do not produce entirely groundbreaking games, they are long, fun, and very enjoyable. I think they are quite a revolution when it comes to gaming, and I will always support them as long as they are a functioning company.

Treyarch is the company that might cause another game industry recession, where nobody wants to buy the pieces of shit the developers produce anymore, like Atari did with ET.

Same shit, different name.

Valve has been shit the past 5 - 6 years? Wow I'm not even gunna say anything about how bad that statement is. Saying you don't like the past 5 - 6 years of games from Valve is fine, but saying games like Team Fortress 2, Portal and Portal 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, and Half Life Episodes 1 and 2 are bad is just ignorance.
I think Valve really kept the PC community alive because of Counter Strike and Steam. I mean Steam is like the XBL and PSN of computers, plus I don't think you can even deny the ingenious and brilliant idea Valve had when they made it. So yeah I definitely think Valve is the better of the two.

You are aware that the pirating rate for PC games is around 80 percent, right?

I've always loved what Blizzard has done for gaming. I've played a lot of the games they have come out with since i've been playing games. I've also played games from valve but they haven't had as big of an impact on me.

Valve because Steam is way cooler than World of Warcraft. Also, Valve isn't attached to those assholes at Activision.

Both companies are known for creating two completely different types of video games.
So why the hell are we comparing?

I don't think it's a matter of comparing games, but of what they've done for the PC community, and the larger community's perspective on gaming as a whole.
Valve: Created Steam, which really brought digital distribution of games into the mainstream, exposing thousands of gamers to an easy and cheap way to ge their fix, as well as being a great way for small indie developers to get their stuff out there.
Blizzard: Created one of the most popular MMOs in existence, World of Warcraft, which has brought in lots of new players to the gaming scene, and has managed to keep it successful and relevant over the years.
It's pointless to argue which one is better as a virtue of their games output, since both are great developers who are known for taking their time with releases.
