These insects come out every 13 years. They are everywhere in my neighborhood, on everyone's cars, houses, driveways, and bushes. You can hear them sing all day long. I walk every morning and they fly around me. Sometimes they land on my shoulders or arms and ride along. These things are annoying, but cute at the same time.

We have them here, but they only come out in the HOTTEST days of mid-July/early-August. Every year, actually. The reason why they appear every year is because even though they have a 2-5 year cycle (or a 13/17 year cycle) for maturation to adulthood, there are many different generations of eggs laid every year.
I love hearing them in the middle of the summer. It's a great reminder that we're in the throes of the nicest time of the year up here in the north. Unfortunately, it also means in about 6 weeks it's going to start getting colder.

There are different ciadas. There are the annual ones that come up every year, they only spend 2-3 years or whatever underground. Then you have the 17 year cicadas that spend 17 years under ground. There are different broods of them so they emerge more often than every 17 years, but a single brood will only emerge once every 17 years.
What part of the country are you in?

We get tons of those things out in the desert, there really isn't a time I can think of where we don't get them (which makes it cumbersome). Only thing you have to be careful about is having them land on your arm lol. Reason why is because they often mistake people's arms for the plants on which they feed (meaning they may try and use their proboscis to give you a bite). The only thing I really hate about cicadas is that always are making this really annoying buzzing sound whenever I'm trying to eat outside *sigh*
Supposedly, I've also heard that cicadas make good eatin'

That means that´s the second generation of big insects since the beginning of Newgrounds, if they appear the next time, we would be all level 60 then if we deposit everyday.
