I need help on Jak2!

I borrowed Jak2 from my friend and I got stuck on a level where you must destroy the ammo dump.......
Anyways their is this Attack Tank that chases you.
I have gotten to the part where they tell me to destroy the two electricals things but no further.
Is their anyway to destroy the tank?

Well ya jus cant destroy the tank. prob u will hafta jus try again and again. There is more of that sorta stuff later in the game too.
