I strongly disagree.
I feel that round one in 2010 left very little room for originality, and as a result, I animated bits and pieces of at least four different ideas until I finally gave up.

That one really was based around unoriginality.
A sequel really does confine you, but I think it's always a great way to throw back to the TOFA history. Building your own story out of someone elses flexes some planning muscles that aren't normally used. I thought it was a cool theme, and I was disappointed that I missed out on partaking in that :(
I've planned on doing TOFA for the last 2 years, and hopefully this year I can finally make the time for it. My finals end in a few days, so I should have time then.
GAH!
I'm pretty sure the worst one was the very first theme (2007) "The Brim of Existence"
Everyone was like "wut"
Hello Tournament Competitors. This event I do not doubt will be spectacular and I intend to review as many of these submissions that I can, but that's not why I'm making this post.
For those of you who don't know I am the chief editor of The Interviewer here on Newgrounds. I will guarantee an automatic interview with the winner of The Tournament of Flash Artists. Not really a big prize compared to the rest that's given out, but I just thought I'd mention that here.
Thank you, The-Great-One, that's a cool contribution to make :)
List of Current Prizes:
- $1,710
- Adobe Premiere CS5
- Adobe After Effects CS5
- Nomination for the Tank Awards
- Interview with The Interviewer
I was tossing around the idea of making TOFA T-Shirts and shipping them to the 32 people who make it in. Thoughts? T-Shirt design suggestions? (Some samples here.
Also in the event that Eddsworld cannot judge (which isn't looking likely), I will step in to judge.

I don't know if Thor will be hanging around this thread very often, but there's always Lepy!
I'll gladly ALSO help anyone with any animation or Flash tips. Just PM me or quote me, I'll try to get to you as soon as possible.
And to anyone asking who the hell I am, I just sort of followed TOFA for a couple of years, and I'm an animator.
I'm sort of around! Being a *SHINY PROFESSIONAL ANIMATOR* (it's for a small social/casual/advertising games studio, before you ask.) means I've got little free time because I'm always working :I
Everybody knows redminus will win anyway...
As for the theme, I think it actually lives room for a lot of original and funny stories. Shame I haven't come up with anything yet. Any writer out there? xD
guh why isn't there an "edit" button here
Anyways, time willing, I'll be writing some totally unqualified animationy tips here:
http://munchymedia.com/feedback/
...yeah there's not much up on there yet. I blame life/work. So far this is what I've got planned:
-The psychological effects of composition + framing + color
-drawing tips pt 2
-something on acting + poses
BUT- if anyone has any questions on stuff, I'll make an attempt of sharing what I know with you

You should make a shirt with a pun. Every time i look at TOFA i think of Tofu, you can have a shirt playing on that idea. But that's just my 2cents.

Let's back up a second. We can't call someone a shoo-in before we've seen everyone's open round entries.
I'm not saying that I'M going to score better, but I think Master-Samus and Wonchop have a decent chance
I just don't like those "game show animations" in general and the wording "create a game show" sounds pretty restricting. :>
XO
Are we allowed bleeped swearing?
And violence? (comedic, yet bloody, but not too graphic)
Hey, I'm entering just for the T-Shirts.... so do them! :D
Yep.
Make sure to link your entries in this thread!

WERE YOU EVEN A PART OF TOFA LAST YEAR?
But honestly, I don't even know who's in TOFA right now and who's not, and who's good, who's experienced...
Except for Elfman and Mr. Fizzy.
ha ha I'm in tofa kids. Prepare to have your minds blown.
Is only 1 artist allowed to be entered for an animation or are we allowed to work with someone else?
Sorry if this has already been asked.
thanks

so long as only 1 person animates the it's fine? it's just that by starting late now, the time restrictions might be a problem and it will quicken up development by having an extra pair of hands. If i can get confirmation that one animator and one additional artist is allowed, that would be great!
thanks :)

All visual aspects of an animation must be done by a single person. The contest's purpose is to find who the best single animator is. Voice acting, music and scripting help are okay (Just be sure to agree on compensation in advance). The first category that entries are judged in is "Artwork", and hiring an additional hand for artwork would effectively put a major handicap on all other entrants who could not get that help.
Sorry that you began late. I have been keeping the forum updated for months until now to prepare.
anyone looking for a voice actor for your animation contact me, im usualy open and always glad to help.

Thanks for the reply, I will be on the look out for the next TOFA this time next year.
Oh, the last post of page 2 reminded me;
I can also VOICE ACT in your submission.
If you want a deep voice, PM me.
lol I'm off to a late start, hasn't stopped me in the past though. I JUST finished my script. Then again, I pumped out TOTALED in the same amount of time last time, so I'm not too worried.
Is Milionaire a game show?
Just wondering, wanting to do a parody of it...
Thanks Chdonga for the signature. <3

Definitely is.
And as of this note, I should now be caught up to everyone else ^^ lol
Hmmm.... I want to use the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks as the Game Show room in my animation. I think its Public Domain now... otherwise I suppose I could just change the color scheme... anyone think that'll work? I want to use it both as Homage and it just works perfectly lol

Nevermind! Fixed it!
So are likenesses of other game shows allowed?
You said we can do parodies, like "The Price is Correct" or something like that?
One last question, do reality TV shows count as games hows? I mean ones like The Amazing Race, where there are events, challenges and a cash prize
GAH!
