Evil, yes, absolute evil, no. Being absolutely evil requires EVERYONE to believe that ones doing is evil. Hitler had followers who did his bidding...He was evil but not absolutely evil. Then again people worship the devil so i guess I'm wrong.

if you ever felt pain, not the small stuft but real emotional pain
when nobody gave you a change your whole life. but that one person who helped you in the worst of times,
the only person that loved you who give you the strangth to live on, killed right in front of you. you mite be thinking it as random gang violence, but it was from a person who has hurt you before.

so yes a person can be evil and good.

There is no right or wrong, good or evil. It's just someones opinion. All the movies make the villains to be complete maniacs that want to blow up the Earth for no reason. When somebody really evil comes, they'll probably have a reason.

It really depends on what you define as evil. Keep in mind that morality is man-made, and all of the common opinions of what good is is probably derived from religions that have taken over the world in the past (which is most likely Christianity).

Greed is a common root of evil. Wanting wanting something and not letting anything get in your way. Yea, evil exists, but to an extent. I don't think there are "pure evil" people out there that hate everyone.

Obviously not. There can't be an absolute without objectivity.

I see pure evil as pure selfishness, caring not for anyone or anything except your own ego and happiness.

Pure good is pure selflessness, caring about everyone and everything's well-being except your own - putting the world before yourself.

As far as defining absolutes go, that is as close as I think anyone can get without getting into creation and destruction and the "necessary evil" argument that comes with them.

There is evil in this world, but there isn't absolute evil. There is nothing so evil that there isn't something even eviler, and there is no evil that can not be overcome by good.

What is generally considered evil by society.

Theirs no evil or good just people & their opinions, in society everyone just rolls with what the majority think is right / wrong.

Well obviously you don't watch much television (specifically news broadcasts) if you truly believe that evil doesn't exist. People shooting up little kids.. it's just beyond disturbing. and no, I'm not talking about anders breivik. you can hardly call them kids at that age, and they were already into politics. But shooting up 10-15 year old kids or younger is just sick.

There absolutely is evil. Otherwise, why would you doubt there is a god?
