My best friend is a girl named Rivka. Though I met her when I was around 12, I feel like we did a lot of growing up together. Both of us have had certain depravities that we filled in each other, and a certain intimacy has grown between us over the years. She's quirky, kind, caring, sensitive, forgiving, and generally accepting. Although we've almost always been on good terms, issues with her parents (who are religious extremists) have repeatedly and directly gotten in the way of our friendship, and it's forced a lot of unfortunate tension on our friendship.
