Skrillex...isn't...good...dubstep. Please don't conform to typical ear rape fidget glitch dub. Skrillex is awesome at making music, but his dubstep can be quite controversial. Skrillex really isn't repected in the dubstep community. Though, besides my opionions, I actually have some Yois that sound like Doctor P and Skrillex combined. I could drop some files if you have massive.

you need NI Massive to make a sound like that.. probably the easiest vst to make something like that. Its not free though .

This isn't the dubstep community. I've heard of plenty of people who like him. But the original question wasn't about sounding exactly like him, but how to make the sounds he does so it could be made as their own.

Its a heavily modulated Reese bass, i suggest looking up tutorials around the web for whatever software you use, and no, you dont NEED Massive, but it helps... massively (oh the puns)...

I like Skrillex, hes been able to create his own style in a genre songs (no offense) sound EXTREMELY like each other, and for a guy who usually isnt into dubstep, id say thats a huge step forward.

BUT on the other hand, now that everybody tries to sound like Sonny, we get more and more half-assed songs by some blokes whit pirated versions of Fruity loops and Massive. (No, im NOT saying fruity loops suck, i was stereotyping.)

Good luck dude, you need as much control over the parameters of your synth as possible to get something like what Skrillex has, and that will probably cost you. There are a number of free options, but I can't think of any with enough capability.
