Is audio created in GarageBand viable for submission?

Depends.

If they're loops slammed together, then you're on risky ground. However, if they're original compositions, then by all means - submit away!

Just don't try pull a stunt here like you did in the art forum, and you'll be fine.

Now, loops put together to make a loop that can be used in a game, would that be okay?
I'd like to get into making more music on my iPad, but if I have no where to put it, I don't see the sense.

You can't submit the pre-made loops put together that come with garageband. Loops meaning the pre-made clips already in garageband.

OR (just for clarification) damn near anything you make on the iPad version of Garageband. Honestly, I don't think you should upload - not to be rude, but simply from your questions I can see whats going to happen.

Share it with your friends, they'll appreciate it more and you won't get banned from here. :3

However, should the day come you use Garageband to make something original, then you'll be more than welcome in the Audio Portal.

Guess I'll have to find something more powerful. Any recommendations for powerful music creation?

Do you have a Mac? If so, Garageband is actually a pretty decent starting point.

However, if you're set on something with balls, I'd suggest Reason or Cubase - then, possibly Logic 9.

Or FruityLoops, everyone here is always talking about fucking FruityLoops; and I'm pretty sure they have a fully functional Demo, but don't quote me.

I've never used FruityLoops... :'(

Do forgive the double post all mighty Mods.

I forgot to mention that THIS THREAD existed, as this question has been asked many, many times before.

However, I would really like to stress that "powerful" doesn't have to be a requirement for you at this stage. If you do in fact have Garageband, check out some tutorials on Youtube and flourish your musical knowledge. Then move on to something a bit better.

Best of luck, sir!

No forgiveness! You're banned for all eternity!

On a more serious note, OP, I suggest (read: demand) you read the submission rules thoroughly before submitting anything, and if you have any questions about them, PM a mod.
Because if you happen to submit something that isn't yours, or is in breach of the submission guide lines... Bans are permanent. And if it's something that shouldn't be uploaded here, we'll know.

It bugs me sometimes, because I know a lot of people consider FL to be weak sauce compared to other programs out there. But an instrument is only as good as the person playing it, that's all I have to say to them...
