4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsAs some of you may know, I've been working on a Robot Day Art Collab Game, with TharosTheDragon doing the coding. It is a fairly basic game, but I need YOUR drawings in order to make this a successful collab. If you join up, your name will be mentioned as a medal and you'd be awesome and amazing and perfect.
The basic story goes like this: Little Jose breaks into a factory to build himself a robot. What robot? You invent which ones! There are 2 sides into participating in this collab:
In this topic you post the robot parts. This is the most restrictive part.
-Dimensions: See Base Plan.
-You must make 5 parts, 1 head, 1 body, 1 below waist and 2 different arms. Don't be scared to draw 2 radical different arms.
-Keep the colours SOMEWHAT uniform.
Any program you choose is fine, but if you can, drag the layers into Flash and save it as an .fla. You can also import your ending here. If this is not possible, try saving as a Photoshop file (but no CS5).
These are just guidelines based on what's easiest for us, any format will be accepted.

I think this is a great idea, and Ill defo do somethign for it

uniform within the robot or uniform to your robot?
i only have cs5 and no flash, wat do?
This is cool, and test-object is cooler.
Is the idea for this some kind of dress-up game?

Uniform within the robot.

Photoshop CS5 can save as CS4, right? If you can not, the final solution would be saving the different layers/parts as apart .pngs. This also reminds me, we can not accept Flash CS5 OR Photoshop CS5.

It is in its core a dress-up game, yes. We've added a bit of button pressing to qualify it as a game.
There will only be a deadline as we're nearing June/July.

photoshop cs5 psd is no different than any other photoshop psd, and flash can save as older versions anyway
Yay!!! I'm excited for this ...but I don't understand why you have 2 threads. Please explain.
I'm in..
this is awesome..
I went to play the sample.. like the controls.. and the game play is interesting too.

The other thread is for ending pictures. This one is for the robot parts. Each artist needs to submit the robot parts and the ending picture.
I don't think it's accurate to call this a dress up game. Dress up games don't have correct combinations. This is more of a matching game.
I got Flash CS4 in case you need something converted to CS3.

...and that can't all be done in one thread because....?

Organizing purposes. We're in fact asking for 2 different things, if they get all mixed up in 1 thread, it's gonna be hard to look them up . Unless you think this should be better off as a conversation topic and the other a submissions topic, as often in contests, it's not a waste of space.

I agree.
You should have made 4 threads.
Your lack of foresight will cost you dearly.

Be careful what you say, I might do it!
CHANGING the current topic intentions though. Not append.

Seriously tho test, I'm aware that the limbs need to be seperable.
But are wide robots ok?

of course. We can always tweak them to fit into the game. I'd rather see people working too big than too small.

If you need a digital inker just check my inking sample and then PM me
Don't stay in school kids ;)
WOW this idea is just awesome!!! I think I might do a robot :D
Also do you still need music? I could try and compose something.
can we add some kind of animation to the robot parts? Like flashing lights and stuff.

I already have quite some good music, but whatever, give it a try. I still need ending screen songs :3

If it's not too extravagant, I don't think that would be a problem. Heart monitors/small fading lights/little gears and the likes would be pretty cool to have ^^

For clarity's sake!
Order of parts goes like this:
Head - Legs - Body - Arms

I'm sure they have to be movie clips. Graphics don't work well or games!

I meant "for games"
