Then I rush down the hallway to my computer to animate it, but alas it has to much detail its too much for me for lines keep jiggling even if I don't want them to; I Ctrl z until the cows come home until I get it right but it won't and then......... I give up. can anyone help?
Ps: I not a fan of motion tweening much, just frame by frame

this is shrew bot my most detailed character that i'm going to use for my flashes. sorry. I didn't save the flash document for my character but I think I can draw the animation again.. K(
the lord of our savior. el christio
The animation btw was that shrew bot was shooting a lazer from his cannon to blast targets (something simple) but the lines keep jingling damn it so much that it loses its feeling of solidness!

Are you animating the character in blocks first? This usually helps a blocky character keep its form. Or are you straight-ahead drawing? This could be your problem if this is true.
Needless to say.. that test .swf would certainly help.

Guys don't feed the trolls!
I have a solution to you're problem!
-chorus of angels-
CLASSIC TWEEN ANIMATION!
draw each moving part of your guy (arm, hand, torso, head, cannon) as a separate movie clip, then distribute them to layers, (you should have a bout ten. then animate them tween by tween, drawing new MCs occasionally for foreshortening, and keeping track of rotation axises, check out my animation, Runner, for an example of how it looks when you do it right.
I would say "i hope this helps" but that would be silly... cuz it WILL help... ALOT!

Well actually I wanted frame by frame animation but this is useful I guess.

its super useful if you want to have an unlimited amount of detail. plus it looks a lot better if done correctly the more you redraw them, the better, but you don't have to redraw them nearly as much as with frame by frame ,frame by frame is really overrated and overused anyway. :P
good luck

You're working straight ahead animation. The problem with this is your consistency will constantly be broken due to the number of things you will end up changing over time and time again of drawing every frame.
What you need to do is decide on the keyposes. You draw out these keyposes first, then space them out with the create timings. Use arcs, eases, and all the principles of animation to enhance the speed of the character. Right now, your rushing it, drawing too few frames to gain smooth animation. When you have all your poses done, you can then onion skin to judge where every inbetween/breakdown should be. He is an example of how you would tackle a character jumping for instance. The jump isnt perfect, i drew this like 5 years ago for someone. But its an example of how you should be tackling FBF animation.
You need to work with animatics first. Get the animation sequence and then draw the detailed version over it.
Also, you don't have to frame by frame every single thing. Use tweens for short quick movements. Frame by frame the more complex things like angle change and things like moving fingers etc. I'm sure this is obvious by now, take this advice, you'll get better results and faster. Use flash to it's fullest, it has tools for a reason.
The guy below me is gay
Oddly enough if you haven't noticed I actually do that! So does that mean I just suck?

It's advice, but a stylised one. Tweening static elements will always look more static than frame by frame. It can be just as quick to redraw a hand than it is to manually manipulate the fingers, but by bit. I certainly wouldnt suggest tweeing body shapes will give you "better" results in traditional animation. Too restrictive IMO.
