The first thing I notice is the level, but there are some low-level regs, mods and admins, so the post count does it for me.

neither, those stats are for nubs eyes only. It's all about submitted content.

What?! Oh, I wasn't judging! I can't see anything wrong with how you typed up this topic, and I'm no expert anyway. Hardly. I always fuck up somewhere.
I'm just saying that this is genuinely what I notice about a user. Levels and post counts are silly. It's just about the user and how/what they are typing that catches my eye usually.
Now I'm off to cry at being called a bitch.
Look at what you did, OP. You made Gagsy cry. Shame on you.

I do exactly the same as you do. I look at the level first, then the post count. But I especially have high respect for users that use proper grammar and punctuation in their posts.
Neither one do it by themselves
Content of the posts and the level of the user combined for me.
Well maybe not level.
If the user makes good posts and has been on the site a good while then its safe to say that the user is a good user usually if the person has been on the site a while they will be a high level though this is not always the case.
Final answer: Post content + Account age.
I'm a noob from 07 so it's their sign up date for me.
Post count makes more difference than level to me though
???-2004?=dark ages, 2005?=atomic betty era, 2006=red dwarf era, 2007-2009=newgrounds era, 2009-on= anime era.
What have I done with my life?

Why not judge using date of sign up, post count and quality of posts at the same time?
Sign up date of course. Evereyone with a newer account than me, is uncool. >:(

content of their posts (70%) + post count (30%)
experience and sign up date means nothing.
I am just a random user from a set of measure zero and thus am negligible.

Wouldnt that formula give you a low amount of respect yourself?

I'm sorry. I thought you were taking a stab. Our friendship shall live on in the fireside tales and bard's minuets of the future.
But yeah, you have a great point. How someone types can really tell a lot about them, really.
The content of their posts.
Their icon just means they wasted a bunch of time in the portal, and those that just mindlessly voted on crap to get saves derserve much less respect.
As for post count.. well you have peopel SiezureDog with an incredbly high post count made up of utterly worthless posts.
So like I said, conetent is all that matters.
THe flash equivlent would be those guys with 200 worthless flashes that no one cares about or respects. A guy with just 1 good flash gets more respect than every portal spammer combined

What has the level icon to do with the amount of saves?

Yeah, but you just have to deal with it. I get mobbed by users who have older accounts than me as well, so I have to mob others to feel better. It's a vicious circle, really. :(

I meant that I don't care about the level icon, but if I click someones profile and see they have a high level icon because they have 1000000 saves and 3 blams, my respect for them will drop

Neither.
But If I HAD to pick how i judge people either by level or post count and nothing else, I'd say level.
Post count.
Level shows how much of games/ movies they have seen. But post count is BBS experience. If it is high, he/she may have +1 posted a lot, but you know he/she knows the BBS well and probably thinks it's fun enough to stick around. Trolls are more the post and run kind anyway.

level indicates the minimum number of votes they have casted and sometimes tells you how much of a statwhore you are.
I am just a random user from a set of measure zero and thus am negligible.
both mean shit, as long as someone has something usefull to say I don't care what their level or post count is.
It's not about the levels or post count, it's all about the sign up date

No Fap November!
it's not post count or level that i look at. in the bbs i look to post quality above all else. i do not judge a user based on his number of posts or fancy icon, it's the quality.
quality > quantity
