4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsYeah I keep hearing all this nostalgia for cartoon shows from the 80's and 90's mainly from Nickelodeon and you know what that's all fine and dandy, I grew up during the 90's so I can appreciate that nostalgia.
However one show I never heard anyone talk about was Rocky and Bullwinkle. It's a show my parents introduced to me at a young age and I loved it every time it came on.
For those of you young ones who are left in the dark. It was about a flying squirrel named Rocket J. Squirrel or Rocky for short and his friend Bullwinkle the Moose or Bullwinkle for short. It is a show that has to be seen from episode 1 to get all of the information of what's going on, but it's certainly not required.
Now the adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle were the main feature, it had other features as well. I grew up during the 90's so the variety show I had was Animaniacs so I knew how this format worked. I enjoyed the "Fractured Fairy Tales" as well as "Amoses and Son", I didn't care too much for "Dudley Do Right", but my favorite was "Peabody's Improbable History".
So many wonderful memories oh and let's not forget some of our most famous villains Boris and Natasha, the two spies who want Rocky and Bullwinkle dead.
This show has so many memories for me... I'm just wondering if it has any memories for you as well?
Rocky and Bullwinkle was freaking beast. I loved that show.
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things: Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax. Of cabbages and kings!"
I had a bullwinkle stuffed animal as a kid
Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit from outta my hat!
Life is a performance, and the world is full of critics. Give it your all like it's your last show.
You don't even want to know

I have a few of the episodes on VHS still, and damn I use to have a crush on Natasha and her sexci accent
Fractured Fairy Tales and Mr. Peabody were brilliant:

Nothing like a russian accent to bring the boys to her yard. Too bad her partner was a complete idiot at times.

I loved it whenever he pulled Rocky out of the hat. It was rare, but hilarious.
Rocky and Bullwinkle was my shit when I was a kid. I used to stay up late on Saturdays just to watch it on CN.
Yeah, I love that show. They were still rerunning it until not too long ago, there were a few extra episodes made as follow-ups to the rocky and bullwinkle movie but they werent as popular as the original episodes so they didnt bother making anymore.
Many of you think your the real deal. Some of you may be right. But it does not matter. It will never matter. Because I am much more...

Yeah that's how I discovered it. So happy that I can now watch them through Netflix.

I never got a chance to see the movie. I heard the movie did terrible, but I would still like to see it.
This shw was on in the 80s too, I watched this when it was on cable in the 90s.

We'll be waiting. In the meantime we're gonna watch Bullwinkle pull a rabbit out of a hat.

I mean, I used to watch this when it was regular TV in the 80s-then I started watching it again when it was cable in the 90s.

Yeah I'd watch it in the 90's as well.
One of my favorites from when I was really young. Didn't understand it to much but still enjoyed it.

During the 90's it was on Cartoon Network and I think later on they showed it on Boomerang as well.
I remember watching it late at night on Cartoon Network after the "Cartoon Theater."

If I remember right it was on Nick first.

Possibility that it was on Nick before Cartoon Network. I vaguely remember Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon so Rocky and Bullwinkle could have been on Nickelodeon as well.
I saw the movie- I am wondering why they didn't show a Mr. Peabody and Sherman cartoon in conjunction with it?

I never saw the movie. However when I saw trailers I never thought they would just cut away to Mr. Peabody and Sherman, but was there at least a cameo by them somewhere?

I don't think they'd be popular now-the COld War is over.
Watching Rocky and Bullwinkle some more and I still to this day cannot stand Dudley-Do-Right. It's not that I'm against quirky corny comedies I like them, if I didn't I wouldn't be watching Rocky and Bullwinkle. I'm not against Canadians, one of my best friends is Canadian. I just don't like Dudley-Do-Right it just doesn't seem funny or witty and it's quirky appearance just seems bland.
Is there something I'm missing?
