Someone suggested:

Maybe time travel some episodes...go old west and revolution even do like Roman times...it's been done but if done right it's never fail
Make sure to have conflict within each group...obviously cat vs dog good and cat vs dog bad...also have alpha dog competions in each group.

Going back in time to Roman times could work but they'd have to have a VERY GOOD REASON for doing that.

What's an alpha dog?
