What if this machine really killed you and just duplicated you with all of your memory right before the teleport. We would be killing our selves and NEVER KNOW! MIND FUCK!

Terrific, we can all just teleport to work and that won't cause any traffic but the fact is, is it possible?

I doubt it.

To teleport someone first you must break up all the atoms that make up the person, transmit them to another place, then re-arrange the atoms in the exact same way as they were before. Very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very difficult. All the very's make it true.

That would increase obesity ridiculously. Teleportation would be unnecessary in most cases.

I've always wanted to do that? Coming in late, instant teleport and be on time...

However, just imagine you teleport and get mixed up in a wall. seems like a very uncomfortable death.

Because this is likely to happen first time.

The unfortunate reality is, I really doubt anyone here has any concept of how massive of an undertaking the development of this technology would be.

Even if it is possible, there is no possible way anyone living today will see it, the best you can hope for is a few particles teleported with purely scientific purpose and absolutely no commercial purpose.

if it works. I mean if it works fast that means less transport on the road. nothing is late and save A hell of a lot of energy!

At the rate that our technology is advancing right now, I believe it will be in my lifetime.
Think about it. Computers are getting faster. And they're getting faster faster.
Get it? Small steps in quantum computing are being made, but soon those steps are going to get bigger and bigger.

The future is now.

Even if teleportation was invented, I dare say I'd be afraid to try it. Who's to say you won't dissolve into particles only to stay that way for an eternity, or accidentally reappear in the sky and fall down immediately afterwards?

teleportation, sadly, would probably cause more problems then it solves. only the super rich would be able to afford it (mostly being corrupt businessmen and criminals).

gotta love our world.

if it were possible, I'd prefer Jumper's method of teleporting. then you wouldn't have to buy it or keep it charged.

I think someone already mentioned this but the person who goes in will die, what you will see at the other end is a perfect duplicate and it will be void of all memories so it'll be a vegetable in essence. I think that's the huge problem with this.. So i guess if we do ever achieve it, it'll just be used for objects.

It's probably never going to happen. But, what do I know. It could be possible 30 years from now. just probably not.

It has already been said by scientists that we will have invisibility cloaks long before we ever invent a time machine. Meaning it is very possible that if people are traveling back to our time, they're not being retarded about it and are wearing invisibility cloaks so we can't see them.

It all sounds great, but think of all the abuse of it.

By the way, I'm looking forward more to a time machine.
