It was a 2010 CN show. So yeah.
Not just Cartoon Network- MOST of the other ANIMATION PRODUCTION HOUSES IN GENERAL.

So very true, infact this in turn affects adult swim through the chain of awesome being severed causing less and less awesome to be made in return.

That was my favorite episode of the show, but not for that part though.

It totally was, don't lie.
Life is a performance, and the world is full of critics. Give it your all like it's your last show.
You don't even want to know
Sorry guys but I've never seen an episode of this crap before and I just gotta say, after watching the trailer to the show, I really don't wanna watch it. The main reason to this is the fact that it feels like it belongs on Cartoon Network and by that I mean it looks extremely generic and one dimensional by the standards that now fit Cartoon Networks image.
The anime style, the thick, thick outlining, the CG and the dialogue most of all gives me the impression that it's a real cookie cutter show. It doesn't feel like I could give half a crap for the characters strictly because it's aimed toward high schoolers and is therefore about high schoolers; alien or not, I'm not particularly fond of such a lame, uninteresting premise such as [insert abnormality here] high school, especially given how abused that premise is already.
Really, I don't get excited over such vivid and definitive highlights as "What is that?" followed by "Sloppy Joes". Either the show blows and only appeals to high schoolers or it was massively misrepresented.

The 1980s and 1990s was a renaissance of the cartoon series for children and adults. Various broadcast networks and media companies began creating television channels and formats designed specifically for airing cartoon series. Companies that already had these types of formats in place began to revamp their existing models during this time.
I think the reason why there's a declavity in 'toons today is because-it's a new century. Most toons have gone digital- so that gives productions teams an excuse to fall back on quality. Kids today use the internet, so they are probably trying to cater to the 'net crowd. Most kids now probably aren't watching toons like kids used to. The people who make the current toons are most likely concerned with quantity and not quality. I also think kids' shows today are heavy influenced by society.
I met some kids who said Teen Titans represents today's youth. If that's the case no wonder there is so much Rule 34 of it on the web.

I am not lying. I actually found the part where she feel for him at the end funny.
The only reason I pay attention to cartoons from 2000s-present is because I was an animation student, and I am trying to be aware of the current trends in animation. I also want to get inot comics.
I think cartoons started to go down hill after Roger Rabbit came out.
Trying to use sex to sell cartoons. What's considered family/kids' entertainment NOW isn't the same as what was considered family/kid's entertainment a century ago. The VALUES changed.
That is a BAD thing.
There was already sexual perversion out there and I think 'toons were messed up enough already before Janet Jackson had her so-called "wardrobe malfunction" in the Super Bowl 8 years ago. Janet Jackson just further propagated the perversion.
Witchcraft in cartoons WASN'T AS BIG in CARTOONS as it IS NOW.

Well...that's one of the reasons. But it was a good show.

Some of us would disagree.

Is that the show with the blue jay and raccoon who are roommates?

Yeah that is the show. It is one of the most overrated shows on the network if you ask me.

"trying to be aware of the current trends in animation", because why? For what could you possibly benefit from doing so when right after you say the following;
I think cartoons started to go down hill after Roger Rabbit came out.
So I suppose that all the 90's cartoons such as X-men were shit because; why?
Trying to use sex to sell cartoons. What's considered family/kids' entertainment NOW isn't the same as what was considered family/kid's entertainment a century ago. The VALUES changed.
Who the fuck taught that to you kid?
Please note that "before" even that the standards of what was acceptable were vastly "worse" than they are now, where topics of rape, suicide, murder and drugs ran rampant in cartoons before the MPAA was implemented to censor it.
I quoted "before" in the previous sentence because the MPAA was initiated in 1922, it's currently 2011; conclude that it most certainly was not a century ago but that it was 8 decades and 9 years ago; 89 years ago; not a century as you have claimed.
That is a BAD thing.
Values didn't change you dodo, marketing changed. And no, just because it doesn't fit your concept of moral standards doesn't make it bad.
There was already sexual perversion out there and I think 'toons were messed up enough already before Janet Jackson had her so-called "wardrobe malfunction" in the Super Bowl 8 years ago. Janet Jackson just further propagated the perversion.
What the fuck does Janet Jackson's super bowl situation have to do with modern animation?
Witchcraft in cartoons WASN'T AS BIG in CARTOONS as it IS NOW.
No, actually, the concept of witchcraft in cartoons comes and go's every so often like a high five; the concept that wasn't nearly as big 50 years ago that is massive now in syndicated shows aimed at children is technology.
Besides that, what does witchcraft have to do with sexual perversion? What exactly is the point aimed to make with this bizarre remark?

Because Cartoon Network hates cartoons.
Why do you think Chowder and Flapjack only lasted three seasons but Dude What Would Happen seems to go on forever?

Honestly, considering that Genndy made it, I thought it wasn't so hot. It wasn't awful by any means, but it failed to hold my interest. As long as Adventure Time and Regular Show are still around, I'm pretty much set, anyway.

Wow. Does anyone know whether this is a recent practice or something that's been going on with action cartoons for a long time?

Because it's good for the network to create a large backlog of shows they can use to plug the random holes in their schedule. If those shows are bland, uncontroversial, and comparatively inexpensive, even better. The upside of this is that high-quality but lower-rated shows tend to last a little while longer than they might have otherwise (before the network dumps them unceremoniously once they have enough episodes produced, at least).
Also, holy fucking shit, you guys. Not every goddamn thread about cartoons has to devolve into the same old bullshit about how everything sucks now compared to [insert five-year period when you were a kid].
-Yes, on the whole the '90s were a better time for TV cartoons.
-No, the '80s were not.
-No, children today are not deprived of quality entertainment. There are still a handful of great shows out there, and there are still plenty of decent enough shows out there.
That sucks, it was a good show although it didn't have a well set audience.
Ah well, all good things come to an end eventually and cartoon network lost hope from the get go. Never heard of the show, though, but I lost a couple of shows that way on CN.
