I need a team of readers who I can always contact and trust to give my book to. When I reached the 230th page of my draft today, I questioned myself on: if the story makes any impact, if it has any 'hook', and if the characters are well developed.
I'm not asking you to read all 230 pages, my main focus is on the first chapter, the chapter that has to grab the reader. And if you like it, we'll see where we go from there. Hey, sometimes you really can't trust your friends to tell the truth.
I've been working on this thing for 3 years now, so it is like a child to me. So, please let your critiques not be too harsh, and if they have to be, by all means, don't hold back. It is a gory, dark, fantasy epic with some romance tied in. (absolutely no vampires)
I'm just going to give you guys the classic excuse now: It is my first draft, forgive my 'lack' in imagery in some parts.
I will contact you through e-mail, just PM your address.
Everything can be solved with a fine seat and a cup of warm tea.

How long is chapter 1? What are your intentions for the book/novel?
I don't really like to work by email. If it isn't a problem, post chapter 1 here and I can give you a thorough review. I guess pm is fine too.
Despite the name, I'm actually good--Deft, and good!
Giving out reviews to anyone who wants them (exception: poems. I'll find you).

If you plan on having someone read it from the internet, a couple of things:
1. Don't post it if you want to publish it. Publishers will consider this place a prior venue. They do not like publishing things that are already public. At most, post the first 13 lines (about what you would need to catch the reader anyway).
2. Don't worry about copyright. Every budding writer (self included) thinks their work is an act of pure genius and wants to protect his rights. But the fact remains that most of the stuff you or I will ever write isn't worth stealing.

A 'team' of writers, you say?
Shoot me a pm if you need an extra pair of hands.
When I got outside, the purple fog was spreading. I covered my nose and mouth, and ran home.

I'm game for this if you still need people.
