Greetings, fellow newgrounders. I've toyed around with Flash 8 for quite a while now, done some of this, some of that but i never really improved nor made any big animations. That's why I've decided to go from completely shitty, to less shitty.

And that's where I need your help.

I'd like you to think of some short animations to help improve my abilities, so that my animations posted here will go from completely crappy to somewhat acceptable.

Thanks in advance!

Think of short animations for you to practice?

How about a walk cycle? =)

Well... you could go my route. My stuff isn't the "big cheese" out there but I feel i've improved significantly from my humble beginnings.

I started out by making fan animated videos for the MMORPG Asheron's Call. I was motivated because I enjoyed the game and others found my method of replicating the in-game character design interesting.

Maybe find something that really motivates/inspires you and make videos about it. In those videos, try to focus on a SINGLE aspect of improvement... want to be better at shading/lighting? Do an animation that focuses on that aspect.

Good luck! And bear in mind the quest for self-improvement is a never-ending one... you could be doing this for 10 years and still have to improve and judge your own work critically.
