I wrote this paragraph and I want to know how bad it is, here is the question and the pictures that correspond with s.1 s.2 etc
Seuss' view, when he authored S.1, clearly shows isolationism. Europe being affected by blitzpox, blitzkrieg, etc. While America, in another side of the world, or in this case, a bed, believes that it cannot spread to them. This is illustrated using the 2 beds. The "sickness" can very easily be spread to the other bed, which seems to what Dr. Seuss felt many Americans of the time felt. The figure in S.2 also could be criticizing isolationism, but also could be asking what the true strength of the German army is. They could be too spread out to handle even all those contries, but then to cross the ocean and take a foothold in the United States? Even today seems extremely unlikely to us, due to not being connected to the turbulent areas of the world, such as was the case in 1939-1945. Between figures S.2 and S.3 a major change can be seen. For one, in figure S.3, the giant was awaken, shows a "comical" version of Pearl Harbor, America, sleeping, unaffected from the rise of dictatorship in Europe and Asia, being attacked. Seuss illustrates in figure S.3 that American isolationism can be affected. Figures S.4 and S.5 show the lend lease between the United Kingdom and the United States, Dr. Suess' complaint here is that more should be done with the lend lease, and it's not completely working as well as it should be
