Honestly , I never believed it was that bad and that everybody was over-reacting just for the sake of humor , until I learned the hard way . I just got L4D2 and I really got sick of saying " Can you please not yell into the fucking microphone ? Thanks " after saying for the tenth time.

A simple fix to this is the mute button or party chat. It's not that serious to me because I either mute them or talk to the non-retarded players (i.e. people you know won't mess up) via party chat. Seriously, how hard is it to overlook an easy fix?

This is really fun in TF2 as some servers have a mod that allows you to see their backpack, so you can say that your hacking their account and can see all their items.

Mute their asses and move on. If you think it's bad on L4D2, you obviously haven't played Counter Strike: Source.
If you're playing L4D2 through Steam, there's no mute button except for the voice_enable 0 command which mutes everyone. If it's 360, just mute them.
I agree though I hate mic spammers (ones who play music and ones who never shut up). Pubbing in L4D is really painful sometimes, I recommend you play with at least 1 friend, preferably 2 so you can vote kick people that annoy you.

Not to mention they always have shitty mics and don't have any sort of windscreen on them. They also have the mic setting on open mic, so it sounds like a fucking hurricane the whole time.

People just need to learn how to use their microphones well, even with a sqweaky voice if they just speak when needed and aren't to close to the mic then its fine. Anyone who speaks for longer than is needed whether their voice is good or not is doing it wrong.
