That might be my 21st birthday! :)
But it also might not be! :(
I use Day - Month - Year
Why? Because the day changes every time you go to bed at night. Ergo it's more important to know what the day is because the month has 30-ish more days left.
Why the hell would I want to know what the month is? I KNOW what the month is, I want to know what the day is because it changes more frequently!
It's not the lack of crimes that values your morality but your capacity for contrition.
Click this and one day I'll be worth bazillions.

Day-month-year just makes more sense.
You guys drive on the wrong side of the road. Who's backwards?
Yeah, I personally find that really stupid too, day-month-year just makes more sense. shortest to longest.
If you see dates in a non-retarded way, the 9/11 terrorist attacks actually happened on the 9th of November.
I'm not aware of any Americans around me using year/month/day. I've always used day/month/year.
Because we like to be different.
And that includes measurements, Nickaaaa
Loo Loo Loo, I got some apples, Loo Loo Loo you got some too.
They don't, they use mm/dd/yy.
As for the reason, it's in the same order that someone would say the date. If someone asked you the date, they would say "March 23, 2011" not "The 23rd of March, 2011".
There is absolutely no rational reason to use month/day/year.
None.
It's like saying, "oh, instead of 4:18 pm, I'm going to say 18:4 pm from now on because it's 18 past 4".
I am almost positivly sure Maerica doesnt use year first either. But they do use month before day. Because they are retarded.

As vice-versa.
OP is an idiot, we do it MM/DD/YY, our military does it DD/MM/YY
It is ok to make fun of America. But if you make fun of any other country in a vague or joking way you get banned.
I don't.
Mexicans do, I believe.
A lot of people have pictures for their signatures. But that's stupid. I'm not going to do that. That is so 2008. Not even kidding. Jeez, you guys are stoopid.

I meant to ask why americans put day in the middle you retarded piece of shit. How hard is it to read through the first page you oblivious tool?
I use Year/Month/Day because of two reasons: Asians write month first than the day (Philippines: M/D/Y, East Asia: Y/M/D), and it is the reverse of day/month/year, what the Aussies use.
I still like Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven!
I honestly don't see how it really matters either way. I guess it's more logical to go from the smaller unit to the larger one, but it's a trifling little difference and I can't imagine anyone being confused by it for more than a second. Just long enough to be slightly amused by the discrepancy before moving on with their lives.
Year/month/day or month/day/year are two formats I'm okay with.
This whole thread is full of contradictions and confusions, mainly stemming for OP's mistaken title.

Actually, this is another point.
There is no logical reason to drive on the right side of the road.
There is a reason to drive on the left, and here it is:
It doesn't really make much odds now, but a few hundred years ago, people were going around on horses, and had swords and bows. Since the majority of people are right handed, it makes far more sense to keep an enemy coming the other way on your right so that you can make a swing at them.

Wouldn't saying 4:18 pm be more similar to month/day/year as the hours change less often, just like the month and the minutes change often, just like the day?
It's always been month-day-year in Michigan.

In the 18 years of my life in England, I have never met anyone who uses the m/d/y format. It's a standard to use d/m/y.

Well USA's just weird like that. And they call us Europeans crazy!

Yeah, sorry about that :X
In hindsight I genuinely don't think it matters what way you do it, lol
hello
Aside from the fact that has been pointed out in the Month / Day / Year date, as opposed to Year / Day / Month, I think that the Americans use it to be different from everyone else.
They still use Fahrenheit as a temperature scale, while everyone else in the world seems to use Celcius, they measure height in feet and inches (Ooh, that's British Imperial, if you're going to be picky and want to be so different), measure weights in pounds (lb), instead of pounds and stone or even Kilos, which is so much more simple.
Then we get into the whole argument over the long ton (2,240 lb), where the Americans use the short ton (2,000 lb) and everyone else who wants to work together uses the metric tonne (1,000 kg)
I think America is trolling us

Oh, well I just think its easier to do it that way...
I do Month/Day/Year, like today is 3/26/11. Doesn't make sense why to do 26/3/11, really.
