Here's the difficulty I see with SoS being considered as musician of the year... Yes, SoS is credited on a lot of submissions across multiple gaming sites this past year, but that has been true of the NG Audio Portal all along, but now instead of individual audio portal artists being credited, they are all grouped under a single identity... I never know which individuals are making the music and I wouldn't know which individual to give a tank trophy to.

It would be cool if SoS was set up within NG as a sort of union, where an author could be credited on a submission but also require his union badge to be present - individual credits could be retained but the services of the collective could also be promoted. Hard to say the best way to integrate a feature like that and if it would get much use outside of SoS, but could be worth discussing when progress in the Audio Portal starts happening.

Votes for best musician of 2010:

1: xKore - Matt preformed very well in the NGADM contest and continuously produces high quality music. More importantly, he has gotten a very large amount of attention from the audio portal this past year, making him the prominent "people's choice".
2: dj-Nate - Nathan also did well in the NGADM contest and has shown that he can be versatile in his music while still maintaining quality.
3: NemesisTheory - Although Nemesistheory only put three songs up in 2010, all three of them were of excellent quality. And you could see " Still Blastin' " pop up on the top 30 for at least 3 months. He's a staple to the audio portal and deserves the recognition.
4: Bjra - He did well in the NGADM contest, Made a lot of good songs, a well earned honorable mention.

My musical tastes are at odds with the rest of Newgrounds, so I'll refrain from nominating. But I'll second all the judges on this list.

I can relate to the comments that speak on having group and individual functions within a NG account. Realmguys has always been a username for myself and my friend and creative counterpart. We both post works under this account; him posting flash and I posting music. We also post collective works that we are both working on together. So I am absolutely for a system that can break down the individual efforts of any group username. As of right now I have recently made a username for just myself, but fear using it due to lack of credibility and establishment with the unknown name. My $ .02

I think RetromanOMG should be given some consideration or at least an honorable mention. Though he may not be the best, he gives it his all, and he's made some songs that I love listening to.

I'm retracting that statement under the premise that xKore has really been representing the audio portal. I'm not sure how often his work gets picked up by flash artists, and he puts out more W.I.P.s than anything else but he's hands down the most popular artist at the moment. If you wanted to go with a peoples choice award rather than a "best auxiliary musician for flash artists award" then xKore is the way to go.
