It's clear to me that the stone is coming from above. Although you told me it was before I watched it so.. I guess that's invalid. But the shadow makes it pretty obvious.
With appropriate sound, everyone should be able to tell the stone is coming from above.

I agree. If you add some "falling" sound (increasing), you should have more effect. The animation is pretty cool ^^ Good game !

PS: After rewatching the loop, I see that the shadow is a little bit larger than the stone juste before it hits the head :) But that's just my opinion ^^
