Some people think it is too soon, and some people think the jokes are funny. I am sure you guess will have an opinion (doesn't everyone) so lets hear it...
Right or wrong?
Freedom of speech is freedom of speech.
troll harder. pl0x?
Girls just wanna have fun.
Those jokes are so good. I lol'd
Don't be afraid of failure.
No big deal. Other people are going to make jokes about it too, so what if he didn't wait a week.
Right now is the best time to buy a Japanese car. I hear the market is FLOODED!
i liked the "too soon" greg giraldo jokes better.
Oh he is gonna get so much hell for these...
I loved them though, i think if you're gonna laugh, why not now than later?
If you have ever seen Gilbert Gottfried in the documentary "The Aristocrats", you'll know that jokes like these are par for the course after a disaster.
Part of that documentary showed him on-stage at one of those Comedy Central "Celebrity Roasts" shows. The show was held like, a month after 9-11 occurred, and so everyone was shying away from jokes about death/dying/planes/etc.
Well, Gilbert starts out with a joke about being concerned that his flight was going to take a lay-over at the Empire State Building, and the entire room was completely silent - some people even booed.
So, knowing that he had already reached the pinnacle of distastefulness, he started telling the Aristocrats Joke. Needless to say, that part of the Comedy Central show was never aired.
Clearly the dude has no boundaries when it comes to "tragic" material - and I applaud him for that.
None of them were really funny
And the first one was,' My Japanese girlfriend dumped me, oh well their's plenty more fish in the sea,'
Don't even like that one but I think it's the original

His voice annoys me and his face looks like he looked up at the sun, brought his face back down and kept it the same, but damn it, that is true, Timmy. In an era of overly-politically correct people, it's refreshing to know we have Gilbert to be fearless in the time of pussy-edgyness
I thought they were funny
Oh, cmon! They weren't offensive jokes or anything, nothing bad. I found them quite funny.
Its not actually that funny what a douche.
Theres a time and place for evertything, but now is not the time.
Maybe in a couple years the jikes will be funny
These arent even funny. Not because theyre tasteless, but because they just suck.
Meh, I dont think epople really care about people dieing anymore
of course the japs will be psissed at the moment because were laughing at them but soon theyll be like"tsunami? lol"
of course im sure anyone who has lost a relative or loved one in the tsunami is gunna be kinda pissed off their tits some lucky cunts somewhere else in their great, not so earthquake/tsunami ridden country laughing at them.
its strange how people dont see that as wrong or dick shit trolling. Freedom of speech? fuck freedom of speech if all its allowing you to do is mock, make funny of those less fortuante and thsope suffering.
Better to laugh at something than be miserable about it. Fuck people that have no sense of humour.

Freedom of speech only applies to a person and the Government, not between a person and a company they work for. I have no problem of him getting fired. You bring negative attention to yourself and as a spokesman for a company, it will equate to the company as well and they can't have that in this pc world.
I don't have a problem with him making jokes, but it should have been no surprise to him that there might be some backlash to it.

Gilberd Gottfried is the absolute most annoying human being I have ever seen. Fuck his stupid face and fuck his stupid voice.

I know that, and I knew that he could still get fired from his job for saying that stuff because it may not be good for their image. But, I was saying that there is no way he can legal receive a "real" punishment for saying these things. Sure, your boss can fire you... but other people can't really do a damn thing.
Girls just wanna have fun.
But seriously I don't think anyone should get offended by a joke, no matter what joke it is. Honestly, if you get offended by a joke, then you are a motherfucking plaque that causes people to get fired over tiny stuff like this.
I might find them funny in a few years, but at the moment hes really pissing me off.

The japanese are really advanced. They don't come to the beach, the beach comes to them.
This is a terrible situation, not something to joke of.

The devil is in the details.
Some were smile worthy, but not all of them were gut busting hilarious.
He also tried that shit with 911 jokes.
This thread is flooded with insensitivity.
