New Question About Ego

Should an artist's ego determine the overall quality of the work they have done, no matter how insecure they really are? I can understand blamming someone for having an ego and their work being genuinely bad, and someone being too stubborn to see it, but if someone's art is really good, and they have an ego, should that reduce the quality of the work?

It just doesn't make sense to judge an artist's work based on their attitude. I for one, would just judge based on the quality of the work. If it's crap, it's crap; I don't care how someone reacts to my criticism. If it's good, it's good. Also, feel free to honestly critique my work if you want; I'm open to reviews, and tips.

I think we've covered this one already.

Your artwork is not worth half the praise you already give to it yourself in the description section. While it's not a catastrophe, there is a lot of improvement to be made in the technique, subject, color, everything. I will not go into the detail ofhow you should improve (I've already reviewed one of your drawings), but the idea is that there is much to be done about your drawing and people will contest any of your claims of grandeur.

Your ego is just feeding the trolls that thrive on your agressive answers to sometimes appropriate critiques.

Well, I already know there's much to be done; that's not new news. My goal one day is to design a game using my art. But, still, the fact that trolls would rate zero just because of someone being proud of their work is just...it pisses me off, let's just put it that way.

It's not the fact that you were proud, it's HOW you were proud.
You glorified yourself in excess which caused a chain reaction of posts on your artwork.
