Notch's final update better include full mod support... or else...

Nothing of what he said there means he'll stop updating Minecraft one day.

He's said numerous times in his Twitter that 'Minecraft will never be fully finished' and that he'll be updating Minecraft for a long time, who said that just because it'll be the full version he can't keep adding more features? And if Notch wants to work on new projects then he can do that.

You guys are assuming too much. He didn't say anywhere that he wouldn't add those features.

Notch and the small team working on Minecraft have lives too, plus they are pretty shitty/not great coders so it takes them awhile to get everything right (ESPECIALLY multiplayer, that stuff takes money and skills.) It'll come when it comes, the people that expect every update and feature to come quickly are complete morons.

Notch is a moneywhore fucking prick. Honestly I use to like him but I'm beginning to think all the fame and glory and money is getting to his head.

"I think we've almost finished Minecraft" basically that means that he's going to release the full version of Minecraft soon yet he still hasn't added all the features he promised months ago and once it's at full version I'm pretty 100% sure that means he will stop updating Minecraft and it won't be worth the money we paid $10 for. I mean putting Minecraft to the full version DEFINITELY means he's going to stop updating and adding features to Minecraft right?

Whats more is that he's planning to charge $20 for Minecraft's full version yet the full game will be a piece of shit since he probably won't add all the stuff he promised. Who would pay $20 for a piece of shit undelivered promises game? This pisses me off, thats an outrageous price for a piece of shit game and that makes me angry somehow.

Him and his big ass company have all the time in the world to update the game and give us stuff, stuff that modders could make in less than a MONTH yet he's too fucking lazy to do it, making multiplayer features IS NOT HARD, and I don't care if he has other projects or real life things to do because he's had almost HALF A FUCKING YEAR or more to do it. This article shows that all he really wants is money.

Im not to phased by this and I don't see why you all are. $10 is really not that much money. I have definately had $10 worth of fun over the months that i've had it. I really want to see Zombie Siege, but if we don't then great. Its still a good game.

Couple of things people should note:

1. He may want to concentrate on other projects.

2. The game is not finished yet, so thing such as lanterns can still be implemented in the final version.

That's understandable he may want to work on an other project, but he promised way too much and sold people an unfinished product with the promise of making it a complete game.

Yea the game isn't finished, but now fans and consumers are a little bit lost at what he going to consider the game being finished. For all we know he'll update a few more times and call the game done. It may be months with tons of updates before he does. That's the biggest problem, you don't know what he is going to do.

Notch can stop development on the game, say he's done, and I'd be just fine with it. I bought a game knowing it was not finished and everything he has said he'd put in are all nice bonuses that came with it.

Minecraft finished by 2011 says Notch.

Oh yeah also he plans to copy Eve, SimCity and BloodBowl it seems.

I predict he will fail to develop so many projects at the same time and will be forced to dish out expansions for minecraft.

Well that topic actually makes me feel better about the situation. Like I said the biggest problem was we had no indication of how long until he finished. Knowing it'll be around the end of the year makes me feel more comfortable with that.

To the people who speak about it not being a big deal, it was only 10 dollars.

I'm sick of you, your the reason why companies get away with releasing incomplete, bug ridden games over and over again and there is no change. It's because your willing to allow them to do things like this like its not a big deal.

It is for me, especially with Notch because he started out as every other aspiring game developer. I think everyone thought "Hey this guy will be better because he didn't start out as money hungry suit wearer, he knows fans made him what he is, he won't do us wrong."

But again this put's my mind at ease and I'm not upset at when he plans on finishing it.

Well I dunno, the more I think about it and the more I don't really care too much. I mean I got plenty of fun hours with minecraft like I said and I got my money's worth probably twice.

I am just confused of why you would stop development of a game that still has lots of potential things you could add. I guess I'll just start looking for good mods when that happens.

I imagine it's probably something to do with the relative return of it. I imagine that with the sales of minecraft as they are, most people who want it already a) either have it or b) can be convinced to buy it by a friend who already has it or c) can be convinced by what exists currently.
I haven't bought minecraft, and I won't be convinced by a few new widgets and doo-dads.

I think this is just a way to increase the price sooner. If he say's its "finished" he can increase the price another 10 bucks or even more. Im hoping he does updates over time and just adds new things.
