I thought of a wonderful idea

The only thing I will ever read is usually Angst or Tragedy. I also only like to read about Dragonball, and or Final Fantasty.

So for my book report, I will read a highly positive reviewed, very popular Tragedy or Angst story written on Fanfiction.net for DBZ.

Some of the writers there write so well they can almost be professional.

I mean it's really a great idea to read about something that you love. I never really liked reading books, so this is excellent, one chapter per day.

The reason that Dragonball Z isn't tragic and angsty is because when people die they don't stay dead. Since Super Saiyans seem to be the only thing capable of destroying a great threat, it also shaves down the tension of the story as to WHO will ultimately save the day. "Gee, I wonder when Goku's going to use that Spirit Bomb which takes an episode and a half to use so we can get this thing over with...we haven't had time to shove in forced comedy about how much food Saiyans eat."

Since the fights are getting so ridiculous as their story progresses that basically a humanoid can destroy the planet on accident, that too relieves any sense of urgency or investment into the fight. What bone structure can withstand a punch that's basically traveling at the velocity of an asteroid cratering the earth? The shit was already ridiculous in Dragonball, but it knew that very well and made it fun; kind of tongue and cheek. DBZ took it more seriously because the fights and power involved between good and evil were reaching levels of "oops, I farted and demolished a city, killing thousands" and with plot devices like Sensu Beans, Dragonballs wishing people back to life, more adventures in the afterlife or a very solid, continued existence after death, the task of turning an already over-the-top and ridiculous fighting anime into a tale of tragedy and angst just won't mesh well. For an entertainment concept completely based around the visual median (manga and anime, LOOK how powerful they are, LOOK at the fireballs, LOOK at the destruction, LOOK at their expressions) many of the details will be lost in translation as you transfer it to text, unless you're going to spend a paragraph describing one move.

Vegeta supports himself up against the shattered soil...sweat drips into puddles of Saiyan blood. A gust of wind, and the prince looks up to see Frieza hovering just above him. No need to evade...exhausted, he props his knee up to see eye to eye with the villain. In a blink of an eye, sharp, bone-crushing pain in his chest! The pain is agonizing, forcing his eyes open to a view of the green Namekian sky. "Pull yourself together!" he shouts. With a flex, and accidentally peeing a little, he stops his inertia from crashing him through a mountain for the fourth time this fight.
Frieza teleports directly in front of him, and in an instant they punch and they punch and they punch and they punch and they punch and they punch. "HA HEW HA HO HA HA HA HA HEH HYA HAH!" Vegeta pronounces every punch with it's own kiap. "UNGH UNH UNF UN UNH UNH UNF" Frieza responds. They punch and they punch and they punch and they punch and they punch and one of them misses but that's okay because it's followed by more punching as Frieza whips his tail at Vegeta's neck, knees him in the crotch, and passionately kisses him before blowing him......away, with an energy blast.

tl:dr When you also take into consideration that the show is decades old, and like users above have said, that it is a show, not a book, you'd be better off spending your time doing something else.

Great I think I have negative replies in every thread I make because I absolutely put no love into it, I just write my shit like pure shit, thus getting this negative crap.

I forgot to mention, fanfiction.net is about FANfiction.

People take characters like Vegeta, and give a story behind him, or write a tragic story between him and Bulma. Shit like that.

I once had to do a presentation in high school about a certain theme as represented within a range of texts over a number of media (books, film, songs, etc.)

I chose class struggles.

I asked my teacher if I was allowed to use Final Fantasy VII as one of the texts. She said 'no'.
