Degree Seeking Writers

Starting next year (2012) I'm going to be working towards my Bachelors in Creative Writing. While it may not be wholly functional, my goal is to receive my MFA in Creative Writing and go on to teach at a University level while simultaneously advancing my literary career.

Anybody else looking to following this path? It'd be nice to commiserate.

I'm doing a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Creative and Professional Writing this year, in fact. It's a three year course, and I might be adding on an extra year to garner a teaching degree as well.

Looks like we'll be finishing around the same time. I'm looking to minor in Linguistics which may push me back a semester. Similarly, I'm going to be taking a couple classes so I can start teaching immediately while I work on my Masters to teach at the college level.

I majored in English with focus on creative writing. Oddly enough I made a better grade in poetry workshop than my preferred fiction workshop. Most darned thing...

Probably gonna wind up getting a teaching degree down the road. For the moment I got my eyes set on distant shores :)
