Looking for some help!

Hey people, I posted a while back about this idea but I'm on a deadline and quickly running out of time. I'm a musician and a voluntary youth worker in my spare time and i'm setting up local electronic music production workshops in my local town for underprivlaged and troubled kids. To get the ball rolling and advertising the group I need to come up with a new logo to represent the group which i can use on the website/flyers/posters etc. The original logo is posted below And i need to expand on this idea and encorperate music, I'm no artist and I haven't got the first clue about designing a logo so if anyone could give me a hand towards this I would be extremely grateful :)

The new logo will also be used on our t-shirts as well.

The motto for the group is 'switch it up' so if that could be incroperated onto the logo that would be amazing.

As I posted before If you do help we should be able to advertise your portfolio page or website If you help out as a thank you for helping us.

Well, from the examples you gave us, it seems like you're not after a logo, more like a stylized illustration.
These are examples of logos, basically simplified and stylized icons.

Now, I must say, I don't think anyone's gonna be too interested in making you a logo for free, so you might as well throw in a few bucks with that request.
If you do that, you can also post your request in this thread and I'm sure more people will be interested.

I've given up redirecting people to that thread, because a) no new users look for it, and b) I get the impression nobody uses it. Same goes for the threads in the collab forum. Feel free to argue in the lounge.

I redirected the OP from the collab forum, and I think his request is fair. Also bear in mind this logo is for a charity workshop, so I doubt he has the cash to toss about.

Yeah i'm just trying to draw something positive from my community there doesn't seem to be enough of it going around these days. Guess there's no such thing as something for nothing even when a good cause is involved...

I'll help you out man, just send me a PM with more specific details on what you want (image size, colors, etc) and we can get the ball rolling. I would have probably helped sooner if I had seen this thread earlier because I'm all for helping people who help others.
