Alright guys, I need a recommendation for a PS3 game. I like third person games, so first person shooters are out of the question. A game with a lot of killing, and maybe some other things to do.
Just to say, the perfect games that I have played were Assassin's Creed (II and Brotherhood), the God of War series, and Demon's Souls.
Also, Red Dead Redemption is out of the question as well since it has animal violence in it. Top on my list right now is Dead Rising 2, as I heard it was a good one. But if anyone else has some suggestions, please tell me, Google isn't the best place to ask sometimes.

Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't worth the buy in my opinion, it never lived up to the previous games because of the different approach.
I'd recommended Blur as a decent racing game.
Isn't GTA technically a third person. I dunno, haven't really played it.
Fallout 3. If you hate first person shooters then too bad, the game is awesome.

I played Fallout 3, it sucked. It was the absolute worst game I have ever played, I couldn't even play through half of it.

I played GTA IV too, it was awesome. Maybe I should have added that to the list as well.

Enslaved odyssey to the west. it's not an exclusive but i highly recommend it if you like the hand to hand based combat system, it also has a little bit of "Jak and daxter" elements for good measure. There is demo available on the PS store so download that to get an idea of the game. Not much combat in the demo but things pick up when you fight more ravenous enemies and in larger numbers.
Also try Majin and the forsaken kingdom. There is also a demo available and it very hack and slash, only it's like ecco where you get a teammate that follows you everywhere, it very team based and involves some puzzle solving, it has very mixed reviews, some give it 8 or 9 out of 10 while others are giving it 4 or 5 out of 10. So try the demo out for yourself, it captures the main game elements, all of them. Except the unlocking new powers part.....

May I recommend mirrors edge? It's a first-person action game that has some great parkour gameplay, although sucky fight scenes.
Soul calibur 4. Fighting with swords and weapons instead of regular fighter games.
Uncharted series. Must have.
And, gta4, if you havent already dismissed it. Thats about all the games I can think of the top of my head

I never played uncharted but it sounds like something you would like. It also would love the Dead Space series. Plus there was that new game that came out, Mass Effect 2. Its a third person shooter and really good customization.
Castle Crashers and Little Big Planet although they might not be your "cup of tea".
What about inFamous? It is a nice game where you play as this guy who has some electrical powers and you can choose to be good or evil and all that jazz. You are pretty vulnerable though, so you will have to take cover kind of like Gears of War.
The game should only cost $30 which is a plus.

If you liked Assassin's Creed then you just have to love InFAMOUS, Uncharted, Brutal Legend and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Also you should check out Mirror's Edge. It's a first-person parkour game with great and fun gameplay that keep you addict for ever!

the best thing about the game, imo, is the outstanding voice acting. it's sublime. just thinking about War's voice makes me shiver.

You won't get Red Dead Redemption because you can kill fake animals, but you're saying you want to get Dead Rising 2, a game where you violently hack off limbs of living creatures? Also, don't even get me started on any of these god of war games.

Darksiders is a great game. Its Legend of Zelda with GoW style combat. Don't try to follow the story though, since its stupid.
