This is from a book that me and my friend are writing. This is during a fight between the main character, his first baddy, and his protector.
Sai'ehl's shadowy burning blade was raised above his head, the tip pointed down at Joss. Even with the help and renewed strength of the now glowing blade in his hands, his attacker was just too strong, too refined versus his own raw power to be fought off for very long. Joss had shut his eyes in preparation for his final moment when he heard a familiar voice from a side hallway.
"I think. . . you've had quite enough fun, rogue." Out from the shadows stepped a young white-haired boy in fuzzy pajamas. His eyes were sly, a small smile playing across his pale lips. Joss turned and looked at him. It was Shiro. Joss wanted to scream out for him to run, to get to safety, but Sai'ehl beat him to the quick. He dropped his sword, which disappeared into nothingness. Then, raising his left hand high into the air, hundreds of swords, daggers and other assortments of blades formed around his hand. Without a seconds notice he thrust the left side of his body forward, sending all of the weapons straight at Shiro. Joss turned his head away, not wanting to see his young school companion being ripped to shreds. But there was no scream, no sound of metal meeting flesh; instead came the sound of shattering steel, and of chain links clinking together.
Joss was shocked to see Shiro not only alive and unharmed, but also holding a spiked silver chain that was wrapped around Sai'ehl's forearm, cutting deeply into the flesh. There were also the remains of many broken, disappearing swords and spears in a semicircle at his feet. The man was desperately trying to break free of the young boy's hold; a wild, primal fear in his eyes. In response, Shiro cracked the chain like a cowboy's whip and started to twirl it. This sent Sai'ehl into the air, moving as his binding directed. The chain finally came loose with his forearm still attached and the injured man plummeted to the ground. He fell with a thud but quickly got back to his feet, the loss of his arm not seeming to phase him. As blood gushed from the bloody stump that used to be his left arm, Sai'ehl turned to face his young opponent.
"You can't have him, Sarino! This boy is mine! I am not going to leave here without him!" Then he drove his other arm straight into the floor, causing it to crack and crumble under his strength. The immediately followed event was that Shiro became impaled by multiple, criss-crossing blades that had come up from the floor under his feet. Every section of his body had a blade protruding out of it. Joss, aside from the details, was completely shocked. None of this made any sense. The dead body of the curator, the attacker with endless blades, the lighter in his pocket, the sword that was supposed to be a prop, and now this. He honestly felt like he was watching a show on television. But he knew this was real and that it was happening before his eyes.
"Shiro!"
Sai'ehl turned to laugh at Joss' cries of pain and agony. He felt triumphant and invincible, despite all the damage he had taken. As he was walking back to Joss, he reached out his remaining hand and pulled from the air his burning blade once again. He walked over to Joss, who was trying desperately to grab the sword that had given him the strength to fend off Sai'ehl earlier. Just as he was about to lay his fingers on the hilt, Sai'ehl drove his sword through his hand into the floor. Joss' flesh instantly began to melt away, his bones turning to ash. Joss tried to scream, but his voice was long gone by then. Instead there was a low sound, like the coo of a dove, which rose in strength and pitch that it soon became a loud gurgling laugh; an unnatural and disturbing sound to hear. Sai'ehl looked up and turned, his face a pale sheet, sweat beading upon his brow.
The source of the unearthly sound was the little boy skewered upon the blades. His eyes were wide open, his mouth open and pouring out blood like a fountain. In an instant Shiro's body melted and changed to the color of liquid metal that formed a mass of writhing chains, moving like snakes, intertwining one with another. A single, slim strand wormed its way up into the air and began to shake. Suddenly, many more chains rose up and wrapped themselves around the central chain. They wrapped themselves in odd ways and at weird angles, until the mass started to take the form of a human skeleton. Then the rest of the pile shot up and began to latch onto and form around the skeletal being. The end product was an androgynous man-like figure, whose skin was a pale silver and long hair like flowing mercury. He was much taller than Sai'ehl, by almost three feet. When he opened his eyes, they were like two pools of liquid metal, with white irises. Then he smiled. His teeth- if they could be called that- were gnarled talons and fangs that seemed too large for his mouth.
Four sleek chains shot out from his back like tentacles. They planted themselves into the floor and rose the man above the ground. Without speaking, Joss could hear the creature in his mind: "Welcome to my parlor, said the spider to the fly" in a sickening, screeching voice. His breathing was the sound of metal smacking upon metal and he just stayed there like that. He and Sai'ehl just looked at each other for what seemed like minutes. Joss imagined them having some kind of mental battle, and the strain was definitely getting to Sai'ehl. He was forced down on one knee just by the gaze of the metallic being. Sai'ehl could not take any more of this mental abuse, so he turned away and pulled his sword out of the ground where Joss' mangled hand was. In the next instant, a sharpened chain shot forward from the creature's body and cut the sword clean in half. Next, it wrapped around Sai'ehl and began beating him against the museum's walls and floor with such force, each hit produced a sickening smack. Despite this abuse, Sai'ehl's blade appeared in his hand again and he cut through it. He dropped to the floor and landed on his feet, running straight for the metal man. He dodged in and out as the creature sent waves of chain at him, trying to stop his progress. Sai'ehl jumped up and over a last, large wave of chains that was sent after him, then brought his sword straight down into the chest of the creature. Sparks shot out in every direction as the blade tried to burn away at the flesh and bone. There was a sharp smell that reached Joss' nose, like sulfur and burning metal. It made him vomit what little bile was left in his stomach, dry heaving stomach fluid.
Joss turned back as he heard Sai'ehl screaming. The creature seemed unharmed, the sword still sparking in his chest. Two chains were wrapped around Sai'ehl's neck and waist, squeezing him until his bones cracked. Then with a powerful crack, the chains sent him flying into an exhibit across the huge, open room. Joss watched as he slowly got up from the wreckage, blood streaming from his forehead and covering the right side of his face. He had become a broken man, looking like an injured soldier. He reached out his hand, palm open. The sword in the creature's chest slowly began to move, dragging stray chains out of the figure's body with it. Once it was out, it flew straight to its master. Once it was in his hand, Sai'ehl seemed to regain his strength, and his injuries began to heal. Even his amputated arm was reforming. "You can not kill me while I have my sword, Sarino Sakari! With it, I am invincible!"

The creature spoke again in a hushed, but serious tone. Oh, I am well aware of the fact. I am also aware of the fact that when you wield that sword, you are unable to summon any other weapons. Your weapon is like a tree: that sword is the trunk and roots of your power, while the others are merely branches and leaves. However, at this point Sarino raised one hand to eye level, if a wood beetle comes along and destroys the roots, the tree will die. Having said that, he snapped his fingers and Joss could feel a vibration travel from the man's hand to the sword which Sai'ehl was holding. It began to shake violently and Sai'ehl watched in horror as his sword became covered in spiderwebbed cracks. Then the sword shattered, sending needle-sized shrapnel in every direction. The right side of Sai'ehl's body was instantly vaporized, while the rest of him was torn almost to an unrecognizable mass of flesh, blood and organs.
Sarino lowered himself to the ground and slowly made his over to the still moving, half dead man. When he reached the poor wretch, he picked him up by his left, half formed arm and let him hang there while his remaining entrails slipped out and sat on the floor in a steaming heap upon the floor. Despite all of this, Sai'ehl lifted his head and stared at Sarino with an unspoken hatred. His mind's voice was screaming, cursing Sarino for what he had done. Then a single chain latched itself onto the man's body and raised him high into the air. Sarino tilted his head back and opened his mouth much wider than humanly possible, much like unto a snake. Joss could hear Sarino's voice in his head.
You may want to not watch this, Joss. Go to sleep.
With those final words, Joss fell into a comatose state on the floor of the museum.
