It depends on how much you show. If too much of the video time is copyrighted material then it can be taken down. Ray shows clips, not entire videos, and spends more time reviewing than playing the video. Therefore, it is fair use. I haven't seen the Black Swan review, but I'm assuming they showed too much of material from Black Swan. Fair use is a pretty foggy law to begin with. Plus the channel owners probably love being shown on his show. They got tons of viewers from it. I see no reason why they would want it to be taken down.

It's less of an issue of amount of footage used and more an issue of context. but yes you have a very good point. You actually know a lot about copyright, and I had to research that to see if it was true :)

Aye, but it's pretty rare for him to show an entire video, unless it's something really short, and he usually comments on how it's a good idea to watch the whole thing because it's worth it, etc.

Also, he does review some videos with very few views, like, 2k, and after he reviews them, they go up into hundreds of thousands of views. I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think it's that much of an issue where he steals videos without giving any credit or some form of indirect aid.

Am I missing something? Does Comedy Central not pay Tosh.0 to do the same thing?

Youtube is pure shit, face it. Someone uploads a good video, one of those big websites like failblog takes it and uploads it under their account, receiving a tenfold more views.

Same also happens with games, websites steal them, block the advertisements and put their own advertisements in place.

People don't want interaction, they don't want to think about stuff, they just want the content and no effort to get it.

If you were in his position, other people would be making the same, inane and completely useless regards against him. If he were to read that, would he be offended? No, because he doesn't care. If the Bievers of Justin came and read a modified version of what you said about RWJ, to JB, would he care? No, he wouldn't. Simply put, none of our opinions matter. It's how the system works. :D

P.S. If he's getting views and attention from the videos he does, then that's just simply that. You can't argue with the method or the motive, it just works out in the end, so the means are justified regardless of how ever we protest.
