At least it's still better than waking up in a dream.

Ah yeah, and then I suddenly jump. It hasn't happened to me in a while, now that you mention it though..
shit's amazing
Actually yes many times.
I've always wondered what causes this to happen to me.
Especially since it gets my damn heart beating after it happens and i can't sleep after.
Scares the shit out if me. It feels like you just jumped out of a airplane and your hurdling towards the earth at 100+ mph.
Happened to me once.
Also, one time I opened my eyes and I couldn't move anything for a few seconds, scared the shit out of me.
I get it sometimes. Shits me right up.

i remember a dream that i was being eaten by a shark.. and it got a hold of me from the side, wanted to chomp down on my torso...
well i woke up and i for the life of me make my body get out of a fetal position, its like it was locked in place, when i finaly started to get out of it, it suddenly went ape and pretended like there was something on my back,
i dont know if it was a dream that that all happenend in but i do remember moving my eyes around and watching things for a few seconds..
and i dont remember waking up after that point.. my body was freeking out and not listening to the brain that was telling it to calm the fuck down

Yes, it happened to me last night actually. I thought I had fallen off my bed and I jerked my leg.
Ya, but it's been a while. I like it when it happens though, it's like winning in the lottery. Happens rarely, but when it happens, it's totally worth it.

I did it for the first time in ages a few nights ago. Then it went and happened several more times until I got pissed off.

I actually have that feeling like twice a year.
shit is fuckin' scary
Everytime someone tries to wake me up from a deep dream, while being asleep I talk to them, apparently asking them to leave me alone.
That way I missed:
New Year's eve 2006,
Premiere of the movie "Good bye Lenin",
A train,
About 200 mornings.

You and me both bro. I also have the hypnagogic jerks on a pretty regular basis.
I also jerk before work. And jerk off to sleep and from there I usually have more night jerks.

Yes, happens to me a lot.
Yeah, it used to happen to me a lot. Hasn't happened recently though. Once I kicked my wall as hard as I could in my sleep. That hurt like a bitch.

Yeah, that does happen occasionally. It does scare me for a second but I easily get over it. It's not something I want consider I can struggle to sleep at times but it's not too disruptive to my sleep.
happens to me quite often actually.
I'm kind of used to it now.

Yea, I get dreams where I fall off a cliff or get shot or something, then I jolt awake. Strange thing is that it usually happens moments before I would wake up anyway. Like less than a minute later, my alarmI once had a dream where I was a knight in a medieval castle, and we were being attacked, but somehow I knew I was dreaming and I said to the guy next to me something like "I know what this is; a dream. Watch this", then I jumped off the castle and killed myself, waking myself up IRL. Then my alarm clock went off. Seriously scared the crap out of me, but I guess its just your brain working in the background knowing when you wake up and creating some strange story (a dream) around this.
it happens to me a few times a week, kinda annoying and scary as hell.
