I've got security on my router so after typing in the password, the PS3 attempts to connect but ultimately fails. I'm entering the password correctly and choosing the correct password type but still nothing.
The message that comes up is "A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the security settings for the wireless LAN."
Can anyone enlighten me? I thought it would be easy to connect it up to the router but apparently not.
Have you tried turning it off and on?

Yeh i've done that.
try temporarily disabling the security and try again to see if connecting is the problem.

I can connect find when I disable the security password but I don't really want to leave my router without a password.

You know! I wumbo, you wumbo, he, she, me wumbo. Wumbo, wumboing, we'll have the wumbo. Wumbowama, WUMBOLOGY? The study of wumbo? It's first-grade Yokumashu.
Oh and I think that unless you can make some sort of exception in the router, you'll need to turn it off. The console should be accepting the password though if you're setting th econnection up right.
Are you looking at the right password? Your router login password is different than your security password.
it should be labeled WEP key. it's cap sensitive so if it's a capital letter be sure to capitalize it. Be sure your not mixing up letters with numbers either (i did that lots of times myself).
Same thing happens with my PSP, even though I use the same internet connection through my PS3 and it works perfectly, but my PSP hates my network connection. A bug maybe?
Gawd. I hate my NG username.

I love you.
And I had the same problem. I just wired it to the router for a while, set it back to wireless, and it worked.
