I mean after people go to jail they have a higher probablity of going back and i dont know why...
What did he do and how old was he when he went in?

Recidivism: it's a real bitch. Did he convert to Islam, that might keep him out of trouble?

There are literally thousands of reasons that they might end up back there. Some people are considered "criminally insane" whereas they can't stop breaking the law due to their mind set on doing such things. He could've been mentally affected by prison and his personality could have changed negatively because of that.
I can't list all of them, and don't jump to conclusions about your friend. Nothing's official yet.

He was convicted of a drug charge / intent to sell/ possession - He was 20 years old...

Three years for intent? Must of been a fat sack of crack. 3 years is State time, goin upstate at 20 is some bad shit, if he goes back in he's either crazy or he likes getting fucked up the ass.
Just make sure he doesn't get back into the drug scene. Though, if he won't listen, there isn't much you can really do.

you know what really sucks...is how his family does care what he does. His dad died when he was a young kid, his mother never really cared about what decisions he made and brother and sister are both alil weird. I dont know what i can do to help this guy out but i got to figure something out soon.

it is my understanding that a lot of released criminals reoffend because they lack support from their communities and family. if there's no one there to impress, or disappoint, or care about him in general he'll probably go back to whatever he was doing before and consequently back to jail. all you can do if you care is be a good friend and hope for the best.

Therefore, i will do exactly as you said. Be a good friend and pray.
People go back in because jail is like the streets. Not only can you gangbang and deal, but it helps you survive. So if you find your place in jail and then get out you come out harder, smarter, with less to fear, and surrounded by weaker competition by comparison. It's hard to resist picking up where you left off when you think of how much better you will be at it. Also you just got ouf jail so what are you gonna do work some shitty minimum wage job that isn't worth the time?
Pick him up, then take him home. Make sure you have a room prepared for him. The day after, take him to a place where people learn discipline and obedience (I can't remember what it's called).
More likely not to go back behind bars again.
Help make sure your friend doesn't get back into selling drugs. But, there isn't too much you can do for him besides that. He is a grown man now and he is gonna me decision for himself.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.
It's not about the destination.
It's about the journey.

Yeah man, your right.
I told him when i wrote him back. I said " Things arent going to be the same when you get out. 3 years of you life are gone... people are doing things, moving, changing and living life. You no longer are in their thoughts.". He told me when he called me, its all good... things arent going to be too different, but i just dont see that being the truth.

Keep him locked up in a dog cage and feed him cocktail wieners.

Raping is not a solution.
Therapy is.

Therapy can involve rape. If your therapist is crazy. Then it only gets worse. Rape, is easy and free.
Ummm okay guys no more suggestions of RAPE
He probably got plenty of that inside jail, its probably better to come up with otherideas

The only way he'll stay out of jails is by staying off drugs.

im going to definitely show him this page so he understand im not bullshiting round when i say no more drugs. EVER.
Give him an X-Box/Introduce to WoW, so he won't touch drugs. Or get out of the house. Well at least its legal.

All I can really say is to do your best, dude. Just keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid to get into trouble with the law again.

Usually it's through technicalities with prior charges. I'd imagine if you're friend is getting out of jail on drug trafficking and possession, I'm sure he's going to have some sort of probation or something slapped onto him as well. Don't appear for a visit with a probation officer on the day that you're requested to do so...well...you wind up right back where you came from half the time. :\

He will most likely be on probation when he returns so he won't or shouldn't be around any more people that will cause him to go back. All you can do is be a good influence for him and pray like you said. I have a stepdad and cousin who just went back in after a long stint what I think is beacuse of lack of family and friend support.
3 years for intent? What the hell? Was he carrying a giant sack of coke on his back? Jeez.

Exactly. Even though people have prosperd without neither, the chances are low.
I knew this one girl who was an amazing friend.
She was innocent around 13 years old.
Had an alcoholic father that gave her money whenever she wanted and never cared what she did.
Had a mother and two brothers that were addicted to pain killers and also never cared what she did and at what time it was done.
Today shes (as she says, which i think is bullshi t) a recovering drug addict with no morals. There is so much wrong with her i dont even want to get into it because it makes me sad to see a beautiful young girl turn into a self destructive monster.
