More on topic, the best thing to do is probably not get involved with the friend at all. Maybe Sara's not even worth it if her friend is going to make things totally horrible. In Scott Pilgrim, it was all about love. This probably isn't love. If you do go for it, take the advice about verbally confronting the friend if she attacks you.

Hmm you could tell your gf that her friend is being a cockblock amd annoying as hell, depending on if your gf is cool or not she may own up to it and agree or could even find it funny. That's what I would other than that idk is her hypocritical best friend kinda unattractive because she could also be jealous and trying to ruin things for you so she can keep her to herself (this actually happens alot).

Or, when her friend is doing something that is quite obviously psycho, call her out on it. Don't necessarily say "you're a psycho bitch", but ask her why she's doing something that is clearly unacceptable behaviour. Basically, question why she's doing something stupid/crazy in front of your girlfriend, something there's really no defense for, to bring to attention said girlfriend that her friend is being a fuckwit. Something that will make her say "yeah, why the fuck areyou doing that?"
