3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI find it stupid that in the media you have to be politically correct. Skip 10 years later and the phrase used to refer to something has now turned into some kind of slur.
For example, people called the place you take a shit in a "toilet", where toilet back then meant a dressing room. Who calls a dressing room toilet anymore?
My point is, this retardation should end now, since the euphemism used today, will be the slang used tomorrow. Like faggot, for another example. Leave it as it is.

It's just words. Who cares.
We have bigger things to worry about other than slurs and euphemisms. Like how come someone hasn't done something about Russia yet.

Then you are stupid.
There has to be some level of political correctness. Just look at what happens when you decide to erase all traces of political correctness. I don't know about you, but I don't want 1/6ths of the world pissed off at me because of some jackass with a loud mouth, no brains, and air time.

I agree, We need to do something about Russia immediately.
Biohasard, Staying neutral since 2009!
Just curious, what has Russia done to warrant action? I am not following some current issues, so I must have missed something.
"self-righteousness can lead to being an asshole"
Who calls the toilet a dressing room? What the fuck are you talking about?
It sounds to me like you're talking less about euphemisms and political correctness and more about the evolution of language. It's just how things go.
Want used to mean "lack" rather than "desire"
Prove used to mean "test" instead of "to show evidence" Thus we're stuck with the phrase "the exception serves to prove the rule.
Deal with it.

I agree with you to a point however that level of political correctness should be much less than it is now, but to assume that 1/6th of the world's population will be pissed at you because O'Rielly is a loudmouth 90% of the time is retarded, Not all Muslims(which is what i assume you meant by 1/6th of the world's population) are gonna generalize all Americans based on him. Hell probably not even half of them will do it.

Sorry for not being clear, but the word toilet was a french word that referred to the dressing table women would use for make up and stuff. Hence, people back then would refer to the place to take a shit in a toilet, to refer it in a polite way.
But then my point is, why create newer words thats going to end up being used in the same way as the word it replaced. Another example, concentration camp used to be a euphemism.

The current level of political correctness is high, but that's just because the majority is afraid and covering their ass, while the minority is doing the exact opposite. To be honest, the only real news network I "Trust" is CNN, and even some of their people like Lou Dobbs and Rick Sanchez seemed a little too gung ho in spreading their opinions.

That hurts. Damn you...
WTF are you talking about brahhhh??
I order language to stop evolving this instant or else I might do something crazy.
cocks.

Tell me about it... Someone changed the word "deaf" to "hard of hearing" (or whatever) on a wikipedia article, and I had to break it down for them that Wikipedia is a place for factual information, not senseless euphemisms.
They only cater to the weak, and those not at 100% capability, or are not ideal in the eyes of society.
Hitler had it right when he wanted to create the master race... but he went about it the completely wrong way.

Well 100% of the Al Queda types will kill their own kind if they see it fit to, hence why Afghanistan and most of Pakistan is such a shithole. Regarding Dobbs and Sanchez, because of their lack of political correctness, they were fired from CNN, at least i know Dobbs was fired because of it.
