Mostly because they don't have any sort of message; they aren't a serious subgenre of art. They almost have no meaningful message of any-sort. I've seen furry art; read their stories; and pretty much all of it is just flat-out fetishist pornography. It isn't deep, sophisticated art with meanings, messages or anything important. It's just low-brow work with little intellectual curiosity. I'd encourage everyone to look at actual artists. One Artemisia Gentileschi is worth a million furry artist.

The only way a non fur can be accepted is if they were all in the closet about and didn't tell anyone, and one of their friends uses their computer wanders around the pictures area and is like "Wtf? Furries (most of which are depicted as animals are HUMANOIDS not animals) tend to send of the vibe of bestiality, but me being a fur I've never went up to a dog and said I want a piece of that ass! I never said I liked the Mona-Lisa. I prefer Carravagio, Rapheal, or Bruegel more. There are aesthetic complexities to admire about the Mona-Lisa; but it's actual purpose was a commissioning of Da Vinci from a rich Florentine family.

I like the non-pornographic anthro artworks. Mainly because of the creativity. In that respect, I'm considered a furry. When it comes to the porn art, I just can't imagine why some people are turned on by it. It kinda creeps me out a little that some are.
