Animations (and ANY art in general) look like crap at first. From personal experience you just have to get past the crap phase of your project and be pleasantly surprised

The more you KNOW!

Damn right. May be someones starts betters than others, but with time you start making better animations. I think that every animation you make gives you some experience about animating.

Same at art.

Loved your answer, it's like words from a professional... Or something like that...

not at all, use so many layers as you want. ( that's what i think, i really really really really think that it doesn't matters, just need the requirements of the 1st page )

Alright. First off

We Are still accepting submissions!!!!

Heres what you need to know if you are new here

RULES

NO SPRITES

NO PORN

NO SOUND

NO PIXELS

NO EPILEPTIC CRAP

SPECS

Stage Size: 480 x 300

FPS: 20

You MAY make it in CS4/CS5 unlike what the first page says.

The due date is January 25th 2012

PUT YOUR FINISHED PRDUCT INTO A MOVIE CLIP AND YOUR SYMBOLS INTO A FOLDER WITH YOUR NAME!

Feel free to ask questions.

Just because there is only 60 frames doesnt mean you should just take 20 minutes to make it Take your Time and make it great!

Don't put your name in, we will do that for you.

And YES you may join the collab

Ok now that we are done with that heres for everyone else.

I just sent out messages to ALOT of people asking for .FLAs that I dont have from them. On tuesday or wednesday I am going to make another post with nearly everyone that participated in the collab with a list of how many submissions I have from them and how many of their submissions are getting into the first and second stream

MUSIC
We still need someone to make the music! If you are a musician and want to participate let me know and we can talk about it!

Actionscripting! Currently we have someone that may be able to do actionscript but if someone who is a actual scripter wants to join just let me know and it will save that other person some time. (Unless you realy want to do it Carr)

Even If i did not send you a message about not having a .FLA and you know you havent uploaded one yet, upload it and send it to me. I wasnt able to send a message to everyone so that would be helpful.

REMEMBER
Take your time
Try your best

This will most likely be the last 60 frame collab so lets make it as good as we can! Good Luck!!!

Honestly I don't know why it was brought back up, but I had no problem with you not wanting to submit your animation. I will not use your work like you asked and I don't even have it.

No.
Do not do a "quick" frame by frame. Take your time. Just because this is only 60 frames doesnt mean that you should only take 20 minutes to make it. If you make a "quick" animation I can assure you it will not make it into the first stream of animations. As a beginning animator, as I am myself, I spentat least1:30-2:30 hours on each individual animation. Some people may work faster than others and thats fine. But saying to yourself "I'm gonna get this done fast" means its gonna come out at your worst quality you can make it. I have seen so many that could have esially made it into the first stream but did not becuase it was done to quickly.
This goes for EVERYONE take your time on your animations and they will come out much better. Even if you are a fast worker, slow down and and focus on the detail. 3 seconds or 60 frames may not seem like a lot but when you are watching it, especially at 20fps you see ALOT.

We are still accepting quality parts for the collab up until January 25th.
We are still also accepting someone to do coding, music or the title screen aswell.
Good luck everyone!

Wow dude, I only used the word quick as an iteration. I've been working on this for a while now and just saw this collab so I decided to make the finishing touches on it then post it here.

I know but we seem to get alot of people coming here and doing quick 20 minute animations then submitting them. I assumed you were going to do that. And that wasnt just aimed at you that was to everyone else who may join. Also I didn't intend it to be mean if thats how you took it, Reading back on it the "no" part does kinda sound mean lol.

And to everyone remember to put your final submission in a movie clip and all your symbols in a folder. Thanks and Good Luck!

Here's my preview just to check if the quality is alright.

http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3393 2e179915cf7ba065e8a3e869998f

Its not finished yet as you can tell from the jump in the middle, lack of background and lack of shading. but once I'm finished it'll look sweet :)

I've read the rules and viewed a few submissions but I'd just like to clarify; it can be of absolutely anything so long as it fits the criteria? So say a character from a game/movie would be fine?

Okay, as I promised, here is my new part:

SWF|FLA

It's about a dude, and he's like totally pouring cereals into a bowl.

Check out my flash animations, and games. I've also made some bad music, and art ;)
