how many rocket launchers would I need to take down some of the best fleet?

because I get a lot of excess metal which I think can tempt other planets to attack me so i spend it on rocket launchers as they dont cost me any crystal

got 200 so far, but seen as I could get about 50 a day, maybe 1500 by the end of the month.

Well depending on your combat techs, 1500 rocket launchers can protect you from around 350 battleships or about 150 cruisers .. And there aren't too many people with that many ships out there.

But notice how battleships require a lot more ships to break your defenses than cruisers. This is because cruisers have a very large attack bonus against rocket launchers and can easily mow them down. That's why you want to try and invest in a variety of defenses for your planet. 1500 rocket launchers will keep you pretty well protected, but add a good amount of lasers in there and you'll be set.

im hoping to get 100 guass cannons and like 50 plasma turrets after a month before I start thinking about any large developments

Well that's no easy task by any means, so I guess good luck. You'll need it to get that much defense... Although it should protect you from just about anything.

your best defense is still missles, at least when the bg boys attempt to mow you down - they seem to avoid planets with heavy missle counts.
