3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI'm almost done with college. I could go two different routes in animation here.
One way, is to work for a gaming company (slot machines) and get paid very well here in Vegas.
The other way, is to go for broke in the film/television industry. Gotta work my way up for a while here.
So, slots = high pay but not very satisfying
tv/film= low pay at first, cut-throat industry, but highly satisfying and rewarding
I'm leaning towards tv/film. I dont think I could just do slots for the rest of my life. That would lose its fun fairly quickly.
What would you do?
do the slots. gamble all my earnings away.

Pay off your student loans, get a comfortable cushion for when hard times happen. Nobody expects to stay in their first job through their whole adult working life. in fact, you will keep more options open by going to the slot machines. On your weekends and time off of work, you can build a portfolio for getting into the film/TV industry.
grats on finishing school, dude!
Go with slots.
Like what Mal said, paying off your student debts earlier is not only better, but a hell of a lot more satisfying. Also, hate to be a downer here, but consider this: a bunch of people also want to go into tv/film. Unless you can do something drastically different (and I mean drastically, like invent a new type of genre or something) there's a good chance you won't make it. The odds are against you.
Settle up your loans and get a good paying job now. Once you have cash in the bank then you can go have fun.

Shows before slots.
Go for your dream now, before you're too old and too comfortable to risk it.

I'm married. She'd kill me. I guess no slots for me! haha glad we could settle it
Congrats on getting married and graduating, Dan(space)Malo. :)
I agree with Mal--get a job with the slots, save save save, work on side projects in your free time.
When you feel like you got enough to live off of in case your dream job doesn't work out, then I'd go for the film industry.
YOU CAN DO EET
I'd personally go with the slots job. If it pays well you'll accumulate yourself some decent money whilst getting the experience of working in the real world. Once money has become less of an issue for you (I assume you have debts to pay off) you might want to try and move away and get into the movie industry. I'm sure the work experience would also play to your advantage.

Malachy said pretty much word for word what I was thinking.
This is probably the best route you could hope to go.
Tigers have black stripes. I also have black stripes. Therefor I am a tiger.
I say go for the slot! You could earn a lot to pay what you owe to you parents. If you have the money you can now invest in the movies in which you will be the one who will produce your own. Just go where the situation is clear. Don't go to where the situation is not clear, you'll just hurt yourself.

I'd say go for the TV one first and put your all into it.
If that doesn't work out I guess they'll always be making slot machines eh?

I've learned very quickly that enjoying what you do can easily be more important than the paycheque. Follow the dream unless it's absolutely financially impossible to do so.

Congratulations on finishing school!
As previously mentioned, working on slots to gain a comfortable amount of money and build a portfolio could potentially set you up nicely, but on the other hand, TV/Film is your dream you have to go for it! Doing what you enjoy would be better than getting money for something in which the flame can burn out any given time (slots).
Good luck, regardless
hello
With the current financial climate, you would do well with choosing the well paid job. Studios at this point in time are going into administration due to cuts in 3D and 2D. So competition is extremely fierce. Go for the well paid job and then use your time to gina expertise with online training.
Do the motherfucking slots.
Make one where you roll only dicks.
