Thai =/= Chinese, but cool last names, especially Porn, Koon, Jip and Golf. There are two Thai restaurants really close to me, but I've never bothered looking them up online or finding out the names of the staff.

OKAY, what? So you'd mistake a Filipino for a Chinese person too? Or a Cambodian with a Korean? Southeast Asians like Thai don't really look like Chinese to me, and they tend to be darker, and their last names are usually weird and sometimes long like Xavaosaoi or Onamaime, especially Laos.
I'm half-Chinese and I usually may get the "are you Korean?" kind of question, but nothing extreme.
