I tried to use tumblr but switched to Wordpress. Tumblr is down waaaaay too often and also doesn't support custom graphic elements.

Your opinion is wrong.

I use tumblr. I really only follow/are followed by my friends. Can't imagine using that site if I didn't know anyone on it.
